Crappiest Rematches to Great Fights

Yeah, compared to the first it was a whole lot of not much. But they had both felt each other's power and didn't want more of it.

 

I think Holyfield-Stewart is the ultimate example of this.

Julio Cesar Chavez v Meldrick Taylor 2 - Taylor was never the same after the first one, and the second fight was a sad one to watch

 

Carbajal/Gonzales 2 did not compare to the original.

 

Ali-Frazier II was the 1st fight I thought of...

 

Holyfield-Qawi 2.......Leonard-Duran 2......Ali-Frazier 2.....Holyfield-Tyson 2

 

I like Ali-Frazier II. It's not as good as the other two but it's still a good fight. But then again you're not much of a fan of Ali fights I remember.

 

Taylor / Pavlik II

 

Frazier-Quarry II wasn't nearly as good as the first.
Morales-Pacquiao II wasn't horrible but not as good as the first.

 

Barrera vs Morales II is really compelling to me. It was on a much bigger scale to the first, and I think both were in peak, physical shape. Marco, especially. Never saw him look so good. It was a tactical battle, as close as a fight could imaginably get. I really enjoy it, but nothing was going to match or top what they did in 2000.

 

Addie beat me to it. Barrera/Morales would be my pick. I was expecting a war and turned out very tactical. It was almost like they shouldn't have fought a rematch, the first was so sublime.

Gatti/Ward II would also fit here for me.

 

Mayweather-Mosley II will be crapy

 

Yeah, because Duran bitched out, hoping to get a rematch. He basically gave up and said "I'll try next time."

 

Forrest-Mosley 2 didn't live up to the very good first fight.

 

I thought Morales and Pacquiao 2 was a cracking rematch,maybe not as good as the first but still an excellent fight..
