Can anyone explain why Crawford is always in the top 3 of every p4p list? His best win is Porter. It’s a very good win, but that still shouldn’t rank him so high. What’s weirder is that he’s been considered top 3 long before that fight. In terms of resume guys like Taylor, Inoue, Spence, etc. could easily be take his place. Is he solely rated on the eye test or something?
Eye test is a part of p4p rankings, a small part but still. Also, becoming undisputed matters, as well as dominance and longevity. Being lineal champion in one weight class, undisputed in second and a legitimate titlist in third while blowing through the competition(albeit questionable competition) is quite a feat. I firmly believe Usyk and Crawford are the best p4p fighters in the world, stated as much long before Canelo lost to Bivol. But Inoue has the better body of work so I have no problem him being ranked ahead. Spence? They share a top win, except Crawford’s is much more dominant. Does Brook coming off of a loss, DSG who lost every time he stepped up at 147 and Ugas trump Crawford’s entire work across 3 weight classes? I don’t think so. One can even argue that Crawford’s win over undefeated Gamboa or Postol is just as good as anyone of Spence’s single wins. And there’s absolutely no way does Josh Taylor have a better resume, none.
A part time commentator Porter is his best win at 147, a fight that was going either way and who many had up on the cards. Then his dad suspiciously threw the towel in. Porter looked more hurt against Spence's KD. That stoppage was fishy to say the least
I think Crawford is brilliant, he's such a satisfying boxer to watch I could watch him, Loma and Usyk 24/7, all three just pass the eye test and you know they are special. His switch hitting is a thing of beauty, doesn't have any real holes in his game, he's very very good. Sadly he's already past his very best and the clock is ticking.
Nah. Styles. Crawford slices and dices Spence up. Stops him by the 8th. GrandPac would have beaten Spence as well.
