He just flat out hasnt fought anybody better than B level. Seems to be an excellent fighter, but we just haven't seen it yet against a legitimate threat. And his toughest opponent was Postol? God bless him, but Postol is your toughest test and you're 31? Crawford should raise his game. And he didnt even try to destroy Postol.
I'm still waiting myself. And if he does not fight A level fighters this year, we might as well call him CROWford
The kid with the bum knee would have beat Postol's ass. I agree though, Crawford's resume ain't ****.
I consider Thurman just over the elite threshold based of what he has done thus far resume wise, and his resume takes a massive dump on Crawford's. Crawford win over Gamboa was good, but sadly Gamboa was an amazing talent that was badly mismanaged, and at the stage they clashed the win didn't mean as much. That is no fault of Crawford's, it's boxing, too much politics, lies, greed and suckers. The whole welterweight division needs to seriously start getting in the ring with each other, it's a joke. A division with at least 4 elite talents that yet to step in the ring with each other. Many of us criticized Danny Garcia as being a cherry picker (myself included), but man the dude has been in the ring with better opposition compared to some of these top other welters.
Yeah, I agree with this, there's far too much emphasis on 0's in boxing today, combined with promoters and we basically get all the excuses why these fights aren't made.
So much this. And the "muh promoter" is wearing thin. Are these not strong young men? They call themselves "Lions"? They all like to run around calling themselves that, right? "Young Lions"? Ok you toothless ***gots, tell your camps and lawyers and staff and PR and every other leech sucking off you. They all work FOR YOU! Right? Young Lions? Nobody that steps in that ring is a physical coward. There are other types of courage, however. It's the moral kind that appears to be lacking in this case. Porter vs Spence was supposed to be the easiest fight ever to make, right?
Crawford is one of the very few boxers who's beyong criticism. In two consecutive divisions, he's fought the best two boxers back to back. He's unified two divisions and established himself as the best in those two divisions. He's now campaigning in his third division if history is anything to go by, he'll probably unify that as well
