Not really. Neither man did all that much and Bud made an adjustment. FFS it was only the 4th round. It´s not like it was some lucky shot that saved Crawford from an L.
Everyone can agree Crawford’s resume isn’t as stacked. However, how many close or competitive fights has he been in? 0. Off night or not, Usyk beat Briedis by MD, 7-5. Canelo has a loss, had close fights against Lara, GGG x2 and a competitive fight against Jacobs.
Full credit to him for winning belts at three weights, and unifying at one of them, but his record at WW is terribly thin for such a talent. Yes, Loma has lost, but at least he has taken on the best at each weight class he's fought at (well, except for Mikey, but it was Garcia who moved up). If Crawford is the best right now, it's mostly because of the fact that he has moved up in weight, not for what he's done at WW. He won a title from the weakest beltholder and has not made a really worthwhile defence nor attempted to unify since, and now he wants an ageing and inactive Pac next. To be completely frank, if that's the number 1 today it makes one sorely miss the days when Floyd was.
I agree but not because he beat Brook. Bud been the best p4p guy for quite some time imo. Bud has been the world's best fighter since Floyd put the gloves down.
