Walters pulled out with a "flu", so now the card has been cancelled. Pity, it would have been a good double header. Hopefully they can re-schedule a fight for Crawford soon
Walters did that days ago. I just figured they would bang on with Crawford vs. Algieri, then put Gamalier Rodriguez in with some random contender and call it an "eliminator" to meet Walters after he gets over his...ahem, sniffles.
Walters appears to be headed towards potential litigation with his promoter, and Algieri demanded too much. Hopefully they get Crawford back on sometime in April.
Why dos Walters vs. Rodriguez being scuppered even affect Crawford vs. Algieri? That was the B-side of the card. They should be able to just throw something else together.
This sucks. I was looking forward to seeing him match up against Algeri. And Crawford is with Top Rank. He'll fight again soon.
Yeah, seems Algieri thinks hes a superstar now. His life, but Im guessing he might start lowering his fee, if he ends up sitting out too long
Ah, so there was more to it. Chris stuck to his guns thinking he's a big draw now (I remembered hearing that last week but assumed he would come to his senses). Pity.
