Thing is, if this is the quality of opponent he chooses, then he should be fighting three times per year. When this fight happens in March, it'll have been 5 months out of the ring. There's no reason for this fight to happen to begin with.

I like Crawford but, I must agree with you. Dude fighting this level of op should fight 4-5 times a year.

They need a WBSS kind of tournament there to actually get the top guys to square off.

Haymon didn't bother to maximize his own in house fights. I can't imagine he's terribly eager to do it much for cross promotions.

I'm disappointed again, this time cuz' of Bud.
I consider him as one of the top three fighters now, so i totally agree with all of you who say Collazo is a poor choice and if Crawford wants to be there among the very best, why not fight Collazo next week and then challenge Spence or Thurman or Porter or...
I mean Crawford ain't getting younger and is there really a chance for him to develope any more in the gym?

he stays active. after march alot will be unfolded and im sure he will be all over the winner of spence vs garcia or winner of broner vs pacman. or even garcia vs grandados. there just not much he can do. bad timing.

I can see that being part of the case. But Bud will have not fought in 5 months. That's not a 'stay active' schedule. If one will fight someone as washed up as Collazo, they need to be on a min. 3 fight /year schedule, IMO.

To stay active min. 3 bouts per year and to be the best maybe even 4.
And to offer Garcia 3 million? For what? To get a decision over him like Porter did?
Don't blame uncle al, sometimes blame the fighter, too.
Just because Garcia, Spence, Thurman and Porter are all occupied, i give Bud a benefit of a doubt this time.
There are way too many fighters not staying active enough today anyways.
