Crawford has got one of the worst resumes for the holder of P4P no.1 status.

Keep in mind it took 10 years for Roman and Gallo to run it back.

Flyweight is 112, Inoue was the 108 champion, he completely skipped 112 to fight at 115 which is Super Flyweight and fought dubious competition while 112 experienced a golden age of great fighters that Inoue completely avoided for an easier route. You're telling me Inoue couldn't fight at 112 after 108 because he couldn't make weight? Okay, buddy.

I didn’t say they love just small guys though.

I don’t care about mma and most people don’t either. Boxing has a long history in this country, mma doesn’t. Nobody said anything about Inoue being in other sports. All I said was that Americans have always loved a smaller guy in sports. If you don’t think Inoue would be a star here, cool. I think he would.

Again, it's not what you care about, it's about facts. So you're telling me you're gonna ignore facts and only acknowledge things you care about? Only a child thinks that way. MMA is more popular than boxing and has been for a while, that's simply a fact so it's relevant to bring it up.

Inoue isn't just a smaller guy, the man is tiny competing against other tiny men, Americans don't care about that. That's just the way it is. If he bulked up and started knocking out reasonably sized men then he'd get acknowledged but 122 might be his limit. Americans like an underdog which is why a shorter player in other sports would get more attention but if it's a midget vs another midget? Who cares, I mean really?

I already told you that Roman ducked. And if it took Roman and Gallo 10 years to fight again, what makes you think they were so willing to fight him?

Inoue didn't even try to fight at 112, he completely skipped the weight class yet it was people who were ducking him? He had the opportunity to fight Roman Gonzales, Estrada, Carlos Cuadras, Sor Rung, Ruenroeng, Kazuto Ioka and Donnie Nietas. He didn't fight any of these names, he knocked out a washed up feather fisted Navarez at 115 and was comfortable fighting subpar opposition. Crawford never had that problem, he was beating and knocking out every available opponent in every weight class around he could compete in.

I'm sure if the route was easier, Inoue would of loved to become a 5 division champ and pick a strap up in the much more historical 112 pound division. He didn't though.

Facts. People have been saying mma is more popular and taking over boxing for 2 decades now. We’re still waiting for it to happen.

Boxing will never die, it will always have a niche in the USA but it's not popular at all anymore. UFC has already taken over especially after Floyd retired. If you can't see it then idk what to tell you. UFC has cable television, something boxing lost decades ago, they have 24/7 podcasts and promoted much more heavily than boxing.

Honestly, you can't just single Crawford out regarding resumes. There are a lot of guys on the P4P list who can be criticized for their quality of opposition. See, this is the problem I have with the boxing community. Context is never taken into consideration when analyzing fighters and their ability, And there's so much fanboyism in this community that when someone makes a logical observation, they are either called a loser or they're making excuses (see my thread on Errol Spence Jr not looking healthy during the Spence vs Crawford bout).

Now, let's analyze some fighters who are put on such a high pedestal on this board but have a lot of “asterisks” on their resumes.

    Tyson Fury

An anomaly when it comes to the HW division (extremely skilled) but his best wins were against Klitschko and Wilder. Now, I don’t think it’s far-fetched to say that Wlad is an ATG HW and Wilder may be the hardest puncher in HW history (debatable). But can we honestly say that Fury beat the best version of Wlad? No. Wald was clearly past his prime when he fought Fury, and I believe Fury ducked the rematch. Wilder was always considered a non-skilled HW and a big punch and outside of Ortiz( who was probably a 50-year-old man at the time) he never defeated a “great” HW to deserve the hype. So based on the circumstances surrounding Wilder and Wlad, I can’t say Fury is as special as some of the members of this board state.

    Inoue

What can I say, the guy is pretty talented, but his best wins are against an out-of-prime Donaire and an inexperienced Fulton whose best win is Figueroa. Yeah, this doesn’t scream “out of the world” resume either. But…... he is still young and has a chance to prove it against top competition at 126 and at 130.

    GGG

Was a monster in his prime but his official best win (yes I do agree that he beat Canelo both times) is either Danny Jacobs or Dervychencko. I do believe that GGG could’ve achieved a lot more, but he was avoided like the plague in his prime. A lot of this is not GGGs fault but I think he should’ve taken the Ward fight at 168 when he had a chance (50/50 fight).

    Crawford

Now this is a very interesting one. Crawford is without a doubt a tremendous fighter and has accomplished a lot. But when you dig below the surface and use context, you will see a lot of smoke and mirrors. Khan and Brook were way past their primes. Jose Benavidez was competitive on one leg. Kava, Diaz, and Postol were never anything Special. Porter was one foot out. And Errol Spence was not healthy (based on the eye test and the fact that lesser fighters were more impressive than Spence). As you can see, he has never defeated a true prime WW in his career and at 140, all his competition was suspect. An argument could be made that Danny Garcia defeated better competition at 140 but I digress.

    Spence

Another talented WW who had a chance to be an ATG but blew it due to unhealthy habits in the ring, refusing to go up to 154 when he had the chance and experienced a car wreck which may have damaged him. He has some decent wins at 147 but those wins are nothing special when you peel back the layers. Porter had been defeated twice by Kell Brook and Keith Thurman. Lamont Peterson was clearly done. Mikey Garcia was a blown-up WW. Ugas is extremely underrated but would lose against any prime WW. He is only 33 but we will see what he does from this point forward. But after experiencing that beating from Crawford and the car-wreck, I think he is pretty much so done.

    Shakur

A terrific fighter who has a chance to be one of the greatest defensive fighters in history. P4P he is the most skilled when you include defense and offense but he hasn’t put himself in a position to fighter cream-of-the-crop at 135 and 140. In divisions where you have Cruz, Keyshawn, Loma, Haney, Davis, Azum, Regis, Subriel, Ryan, and Gary Russell there is no excuse for having such a weak resume. People would kill at the opportunity to have those names on their resume, but Shakur was a fool to not accept Haney’s 25% offer. I have a feeling it’s going to be a while before we see Shakur in there with a top 5 LW or JrWW.

    Davis

Tremendous power but has yet to fight a real challenge (Ryan has not peaked yet so that fight does not count imo). Same with Shakur, with all the talent from 130 to 140, there is no excuse for Davis to not have at least 2 of those names on his resume. He has been another star who has been “carefully” matched. He did, indeed, duck Loma in his prime.

    Loma

Based on skills, I can’t name 5 fighters who were more skilled than prime Loma. His athleticism, mixed with pressure, defense, and work rate made him an absolute tear in his prime. But…. He lost every big fight (even though he got robbed against Haney and Salido). He should’ve become pro earlier in his career instead of staying in the amateurs for so long.

    Canelo:

Hate him or love him, Canelo has the most stacked resume in boxing. He is one of the greatest Mexican fighters of all-time and he has never ran away from a challenge (except ducking GGG for so many years). The problem with Canelo is that he has too many questionable decisions (Trout, Cotto, GGG, and Lara).

As you can see, all these fighters that have been hyped up in the community have “questionable” decisions and didn’t put themselves in the position to fight their opponents when they are at their best. When I hear people saying that Crawford and Spence would be competitive against historical WW, I laugh. And when I hear people say Shakur, Haney, and Davis would beat Duran, I shake my head. None of these guys have fought any ATGs to be ranked so high in this community.

Like I said, Roman ducked him. Roman wanted more money. Roman wanted unreasonable money to fight an 11-0 Inoue. Inoue would have knocked him out.

Like I said, it took Roman and Gallo 10 years to run it back. Nietes and Ioka never mixed it up with them. There's no guarantee that Inoue would have gotten any of those fights. And like I said, Roman turned down the fight — has this registered yet?

Inoue's the only guy in boxing to fight the #1 Ring/TBRB guy in 4 weight divisions including Narvaez, the guy a prime raging Nonito could care barely do anything about. And Inoue smoked him out in his 8th professional fight.

In his first fight at 122, he went after the top guy who was the consensus #1 and a unified champion.

Sorry, the idea that Inoue avoided anyone is hilarious.

From 2014 to 2017 Inoue fought in the Flyweight weight classes. In those years were the primes or close to primes of fighters like Carlos Estrada, Srisaket Sor Rungvisai, Kazuto Ioka, Donnie Nietas, Amnat Ruenroeng, Carlos "Backne" Cuedras, John Casimero and Moruti Mthalane among others, this isn't even including Roman Gonzalez who you keep mentioning. Inoue fought none of these guys, absolutely zero, zip, nada, just fought a bunch of bums. Gonzalez was the p4p king at the time, how about him and his team pay him more money or do something to actually chase the fight, they both were associated with Teiken promotions.

Those "#1 ring rated fighters" you mentioned consisted of

WBO Super Flyweight champ Omar Narvaez who was almost 35 years old(ancient for a flyweight and hasn't done anything since), featherfisted and automatically put at number 1 due milking that WBO belt for so long. Can you believe he's had over 28 world title fights and only beat 4 former champs who were bums themselves? Donaire won absolutely every round vs a prime Navarez, what in the blue hell are you talking about, did you even watch that fight? Navarez was petrified of Donaire and was just in there to survive.

WBC Light Flyweight champ Adrien Hernandez lost 2 of his next 3 fights and retired shortly after, does anyone even know who Adrien Hernandez was? I only heard of him cause he fought Inoue who was hyped up even as a prospect.

WBA regular bantemweight champion Jamie McDonnel... no comment.

WBC and WBO Champ Stephon Fulton....

    :qmeparto:

You telling me these 4 guys are better names then the guys I've mentioned above? Am I supposed to be impressed with that accomplishment? Canelo did the same thing but against much better competition and was actually lineal and unified 3 of the 4 weight classes he competed at, he beat Austin Trout and Erislandy Lara at 154, Gennady Golovkin at 160, Callum Smith at 168 and Sergei Kovalev at 175 yet you **** on Canelo on a daily basis.
