Crawford has got one of the worst resumes for the holder of P4P no.1 status.

Spence is a big name win in a big name division — that's a fact — but you can't just ignore the reality that the man was inactive, had complained about the difficulties of making weight for YEARS, had all the stuff in his personal life, and looked like death walking to the ring. The fact that he was hurt by almost every single punch and was dropped by a jab and the doctor looked at him after the third when he hadn't even taken damage...

Right? PBF wasn't big until he was 154 ffs. Dude was a natural 140 if he needed to be but no one was there as a dance partner.

Bud is not to blame. It's entirely Spence's own fault. That said, it's hard to rate a win against someone that looked like a corpse going into the ring.

Inactive to you is normal boxing workloads for this era. Most of the big names in the sport fight once a year or nearly 2 years now. That's not a talking point at all. And as I've said in previous threads if he can't make 147 he shouldn't be holding belts there. That's ridiculous that once he loses he suddenly can't make weight there anymore. It's a weak cop out for a guy who dominated his last 2 or 3 fights at that same weight.

Depends. If a guy is young and doesn't have a lot of mileage and wear and tear, 1-2 years is fine. Spence is no spring chicken. You are correct. Spence should have moved up, but he hung around 1 fight too long and that's on him.

Again, Spence came into the ring looking like a corpse. We can't ignore that. Well, you obviously choose to.

I have criticized Crawford myself for for inactivity but the Porter & Spence wins were good. The Spence fight should've happened 4 years ago though. He now has numerous fights where we'll find out more about him, both at 147 & 154. He'll have to make these fights though, and criticism is warranted if he stays at the sidelines again.

Ennis & Stanionis want him, and if he can make 147, he needs these fights against some good young fighters in their prime. You don't sit around and wait for Charlo at his age because that may never happen. He said he was blackballed, but we'll see how he proceeds from this point on. ****, even Thurman would be a decent scrap, just gotta make these fights.

You're wrong because Manny was the same height and was loved in the US. The reason why Tank, Spence, Shakur, Crawford, and Ennis aren't that popular is because they are black and do not have a country behind them.

Pac fought at higher weights. When pac was at the lower weights nobody gave AF except hardcore fans. Pac didn't get really big in America until he fought oscar after that he blew up.

I never rated Porter too highly. Good fighter, not a great one. He causes problems because he's just incredibly physical. Crawford would always beat Porter, but I do think Porter had been sliding for years when Bud got him.

It's really sad that the Spence fight was delayed because it wasn't as good a fight as it would have been 4 years earlier. We're seeing the same thing play out with Bivol and Beterbiev right now.

I don't think Bud is going to stick around much longer.

147 doesn't look to have a good immediate future. Ortiz Jr almost certainly will be forced to move to 154. Spence is going there (but whether Spence has any future at all after his rematch with Bud is a serious question). I don't see any fights with Thurman being big paydays. Nobody rates Thurman any more. I think Ennis will move to 154 right after he fights Stanionis. The bottom line: 154 is becoming stacked and 147 is becoming depleted.

Bud? I'm not sure he's going to fight on very long after the rematch @ 154 lbs. He might wait to see what happens with Canelo v. Charlo and try to fight the winner. If that doesn't work out, he might sign off by fighting Tank at a catch weight. I think that's a mismatch in Bud's favor - but the money would be huge.
