At this specific time in history anger at the alphabet bodies can result in the next generation of boxers becoming wage slaves.

    So theres that.

If we just look at the situation Crawfords right to be angry at those eccentric clowns charging him fees the other bodies don't. The corruption of the WBC is well documented. This is a crucial time period. Things can go very badly for boxers if the alphabet bodys go down. They might be corrupt eccentic clowns but those clowns need protecting right now. A stupid unfair fee is small potatos.

I understand what you are saying and I actually agree for the most part, but in the same sense, no boxer, well accomplished or rising in the ranks should HAVE to deal with corruption and unfairness from the alphabet gangs for the sake of a new era of corruption to move in. I truly believe in transparency personally. I was always taught that if someone has to tell a little like or even exaggerate the facts to prove their point, then they don't truly believe their own POV 100%. The nonsense that the WBC gave to Crawford was totally bogus as far as to why they added extra on his fee. And to have individuals who work/worked in the offices for the WBC to come out and prove the bogusness of it just made the whole situation look even worse.

Now word is they are back tracking and trying to extend an olive brand on the situation......

I'd live to be fly on the wall observing that office culture. That must be like here except IRL and the people are all more bizzare.

I imagine the mandatory dress code is business casual with a WBC belt strapped around your waist

This is the part I'm confused about - I assume every body charge something? If yes, does WBC charge substantially more than others, or what exactly is the problem?

I meant they charged him more money then the other three.

The honest truth is they probably want to split the belt but have no reason to do so with a champ whose following their rules so they are going to change them and provoke Crawford into dropping the belt.

I'll see if I can find the link again, but apparently some who is currently or use to work within the WBC offices expressed the reasoning that the WBC gave to Crawford about the funds being for some retirement for the fighters was incorrect and that the numbers didn't add up. None of it was much of a big deal to me at the end of the day so I don't really know the details.

Btw just to say that, too - i found some of crawford's rant insincere, since in principal it makes sense for some office people to 'earn money off fighters' since much of the hype and infrastructure around fighters - and way more so with mega events - is created by the work of office people.

In the case of the wbc though - every criticizm is valid :-D

My deepest respect to crawford to speak it out .

Sactioning bodies should be neutral and focussed on the sporting event , not a "pay to win" organisation .

I don’t care about Crawford sacking off the belt. Everyone knows who the champ is.
Probably someone can tell me I’m wrong about this but I heard it’s 0.6% for the WBC which is supposedly the 3% divided by the orgs. I believe ring don’t take a percentage so am not sure where the 5th 0.6 comes into it.

Maybe this is Turki behind this with the aim of devaluing the abc’s.

Probably IBO. While they aren't major most champs still play ball with them I think.
