Boxers/counter-punchers are generally slow starters. You'd think people on a BOXING forum would know that.
Dulorme was doing some decent work in the fight. I don't have an issue with anyone who had him up 3-2 going into the sixth, as he actually seemed to be outscoring Crawford. He was scoring to the body fairly well. The commentary was kind of ignoring his success, while over hyping Crawford's shot here and shot there.
Dulorme was outlanding Crawford most of the time. Nothing big, but still scoring shots. And yes Dulorme's handspeed was causing Crawford some issues. Crawford is lucky Dulorme is not a more skilled opponent. Looking at the 140 landscape, there doesn't seem much right now in terms of top contenders who would provide that type of hand speed though, outside of Broner, and personally, I don't think Broner has the ***** to fight Crawford.
I agree. I think Dulorme's handspeed gave crawford problems, and I think that his size did too. I think the speed allowed Dulorme to land, but the size of Dulorme made TC more hesistant to attack. I think Dulorme is a solid win though for any fighter. But HBO made it sound like TC was destroying him, the only reason I can think that they would say that was because he did indeed look calm, but looking calm and showboating doesn't give you rounds in my book. But who else has: Dulormes size Dulmores speed at 140? The best I can think of is Lamont Peterson.
He looked good and in control. Dulorme was out working him though, but you can tell Crawford was trying to time him and wait for that counter right.
That was a tough opponant for crawford and i thought he did well, wss pretty even to me with dulorme throwing lots but crawford picking his shots. I have no doubt he could and would of stepped up the pace and output in the rest of the fight. He didnt look concerned about how the fight was goin, his corner looked calm and it all ended well enough. A good win to have on the record and a good nights work.
At no moment in that fight was Crawford worried or frustrated. The fight went exactly as planned and he executed his game plan precisely. He was moving up and in there against a guy coming down in weight, nothing at all is wrong with him picking his spots and feeling the opponent out in that situation. Crawford is quickly becoming one of the best prospects in boxing, if not THE best. Kudos to Roy Jones for pointing out how a fighter could be winning a fight while barely throwing any punches.
if you know your boxing a little you should have noticed Crawford was in first gear while dulorme was in third that's why it looked competitive but Crawford was in controle and in his gameplan the whole time :good like roy jones said those were real BOXING moves setting ups the next step!crawford represent what boxing is all about :bbb
Honestly, it doesn't matter. If you stay in first gear for 12 rounds and your opponent is lesser than you, but he's in third gear, working, throwing punches, doing SOMETHING, he wins the fight. Because I don't want to watch that ****. Boxing is entertainment. I don't want to pay someone to stand around in first gear. If you're in first gear, you're NOT working. If you're NOT working, you DON'T get paid. You get FIRED. Period.
