What's the point of Crawford-Madrimov being a final eliminator when Bohachuk is the interim champ, aka the actual mandatory challenger? Somehow Bud could find himself not only to win two titles at 154, but also a shot at the WBC champ, assuming he is victorious in August. I guess being friends with his Excellency has its benefits.

Barrios is the now the WBC champ. Certainly the weakest fighter to hold the belt in my time of following boxing.

Probably on par with Victor Ortiz.

Bohachuk was supposed to be fighting for the WBC strap against Fundora up until a couple of weeks before the fight after spending almost a full camp training for his world title shot against him but then they decided to pair Fundora up with Tszyu for both the WBO and the vacant WBC belt after Thurman pulled out despite the fact Bohachuk was ranked above Fundora by the WBC, was unbeaten in his last five fights, and Fundora was coming off a KO loss.

Bohachuk had his world title opportunity cruelly robbed from him just a couple of weeks before he was due to fight for the title and now he's the WBC interim champ after beating the man who KO'd Fundora in Fundora's previous outing to facing Tszyu he has been screwed over at a shot at the full title yet again. Mendoza is a KO artist and he was a very risky and dangerous opponent for Bohachuk to take on a late notice, even more so given how he couldn't be more different to Fundora in terms of dimensions

Spence is challenging Fundora for his belt at 154 after coming off a one-sided stoppage loss at 147

Barrios was 1-2 in his previous fights prior to fighting Ugas for the WBC title, 1-1 at 147, and the win was over a 14-2-1 guy who was 0-2 in his previous 2. So he earned an interim title shot at 147 but losing 2 of his previous 3 fights, going 1-1 at 147, and beating a guy coming off back to back losses in the lone win at 147

Ugas was coming off a stoppage loss to Spence to earn his interim title shot

None of these losses were remotely controversial they were either stoppage losses or decisive losses on points

Ukraine should have another world champion right now. If Spence and Fundora can earn title shots coming off stoppage losses, one in the division below, then Bohachuk who was on a 5 fight winning streak should've been fighting for the WBC strap against Mendoza or subsequently have been elevated to full champ after beating him.
