Not the one we wanted but still a good fight. This is Bud's toughest fight in a long time but I'd back to him to win a competitive but not very close UD https://www.badlefthook.com/platfor...e-headed-spring-2021-pbc-top-rank-boxing-news
The problem i have with such fights like Spence vs Porter or Crawford vs. Porter is... ...even if Porter brings it like he did against Spence and being super competitive, winning several rounds, the A-side will get the nod. Porter has to dominate, score several KDs or a stoppage. Otherwise he'll lose a close decision.
Porter is the truth and has shown he's as good in every sense as Spence in the ring. Any fight he's lost could have easily gone the other way. Very good match up to show Bud skill level and if he's still got it. This should be a much tougher match than against Spence , who I think Crawford would break down and dismantle.
It gets said a lot but it needs to be reiterated. If Porter was given the benefit by the judges then he would easily P4P #1. Prime Brook, Thurman, Danny, Spence, Broner, Berto, Malinaggirl, Alexander, Ugas, and Granados. All his losses were that close.
no current WW causes any worries for a prime crawford.. but at 33 he's getitng up there prime is pretty much done.
Not a bad matchup. I like both fighters, may the best man win. If they can make Crawford-Porter, then if Crawford wins perhaps they can make Crawford-Spence for the late fall 2021.
Me too that’s why I said given the benefit by the judges. On record Ward beat Kovalev, and Canelo and Wilder got draws vs GGG and Fury. If Porter was marketable he would have received a draw or gotten the victory like those guys.
Porter is a tough SOB He clings to you like static and smoother his opposition. I really like the fight as Porter has touched base on almost every great fighter @147 and always brings a difficult style. Crawford will not KO Porter and I don’t see Porter getting a KO on Bud. This will be a very close fight and go to the cards.
Yep I've only watched Porter Spence once but I had it 6-6 with the KD...many of the rounds Spence won were close as well.. Many had Porter winning the fight. Porter could win 8-9 rounds against Crawford, Crawford would win and then people would shout as they usually do "you can't call a close fight a robbery"... Whilst not understanding that a close fight can have clear rounds
Big test for Bud and a BIG step up in class. Porter's workrate is going to push TC into deep waters. Could see this being very tight and back and forth throughout. Porter will not back down, he has hung in there vs the best in the division and has a good chance to outwork Crawford and win a decision. Crawford will need to take his game to the next level to be victorious here. I am happy this match is happening. As much as we wanted to see Crawford vs Spence, Porter is a very tough test as well and we'll find out if Bud is the real deal. If he can defeat Porter looking impressive, I think a lot of the questions about how good Bud really is will be answered.
