It was a horrible non compelling match much like Tank Davis next PPV the more these undeserving cards flop the better
PPV is fine, you just have to know you're worth. When ODLH was charing $80 dollars to watch him fight on PPV, Marci Antonio Barrera was charing $29 dollars to fight Johnny Tapia.
He did 135,000 ppv which is not good. They needed 150,000 to break even. However that takes nothing away from the fight or Crawford. He did what he was supposed to do. The fight wasn't promoted as vigorously as it should have been. Zab don't know nothing about promoting. I hope that they can't handle that revenue loss and keep going. It be that way sometimes. I have to put a disclaimer on this numbers statement. I was looking at the wrong numbers. My bad.
I don' t think it should have been ppv at all but they offered him that and he would have been stupid not to take it. It was a bird's nest on the ground. It was incumbent on the promoters to build that fight. They didn't know what they were doing. Hope they learned from this and will do better next time. All those other fights didn't add up to three dollars so they only lost money on Crawford and it's their own fault. On the other hand, Earl got a real promotional machine behind him and when he fights, you hear about it in just about every state.
1000%. We as boxing fans shouldn't support our sport killing it self. The more we take it to these drama queen fighters' and helicopter parent promoters' wallets the better.
This content is protected is pretty much for this fight. If one PPV costs $5000 = $25.000.000 Lol they guaranteed crawford 10 million $ He can go 10/90 against Spence now
One thing this fight did show is Crawford can fill an arena in his own state. Top Rank should have built Crawford with him fighting in his hometown. Yes the gate revenues would be lower but what it would have done is made Crawford look like a star. People watching would have seen a fighter selling out arenas and look like a fighter generating major buzz.
