Honestly I'm tired of having all these conversations about fights that aren't official, but from what I'm hearing from guys I know within Crawford's circle and what was recently reported by Blue Blood Sports TV & Boxeo TV, I'm a little comfortable getting my hopes up just a little for this to happen.

The word is both camps along with Turki are negotiating the fight to be May 3rd of 2025 in Vegas.

I reserve judgement for the state of boxing as I see it as a fan as far as matchups but this, if comes to fruition, can make me smile. A main event like this could possibly bring us a pretty talented undercard. Maybe a (Tank) Davis vs (Keyshawn) Davis/Shakur Stevenson, or Jaron Ennis vs Stanionis/Norman Jr.

Wishful thinking maybe......but the main card and what I've heard over the last few days gives me a reason to be optimistic for now.

if the money is there, it can happen. crawford wants it. and even though canelo has everything, you dont walk away from that much free money. if it happens, i think bud gets manhandled. i know bud is strong, but hes not middleweight strong. and canelo takes punches from and moves supermiddles around. he is also very good at cutting off the ring, so he will get to hit bud harder than hes ever been hit. bud has the technique to catch canelo moving into position to throw, but i dont think he has the power to stop canelo from forcing it. bud is not young, and canelo is going to force some serious work on him. its one thing to stay whole when catching shots from guys your size, its a whole other thing to catch shots from guys bigger, stronger, who hit harder. it empties you out faster.

I certainly wouldn't count Crawford out. He would have to put some meat on his frame but such things can be done successfully. A catch weight between middle and super middle would be like the most fair compromise, without such a compromise Canelo would have to be viewed as a heavy favorite but I wouldn't place any bets on this one regardless. The sad thing about this fight is that it may be boths last fight but the results won't be any sort of passing of the torch type of event.

Let's hope good fights start happening. Crawford/Alvarez with a halfway decent undercard would be nice.

I thought The Saudi's instructed Turki to no longer set up fights in the States, only in Saudi Arabia????

It's not lack of money stopping Canelo-Benavidez.

Canelo is done with the legacy building(although Crawford would be a feather in his cap) part of his boxing career, it's now strictly business. I'm guessing he retires in '25. His last fights will probably be Crawford and that Paul dude.

Whether Canelo-Crawford occurs being aside, with Tank fighting Roach on Mar 1st I don't see him fighting in Cinco de Mayo regardless of opponent.

I'm not sure on all that. I'm just a fan on the outside looking in. What's being said from multiple sources is that they fight is being negotiated for Vegas and Turki is in the middle of it.

You are correct. I forgot about the date of that fight honestly..... Definitely not a match up I desire to see for Tank, but Tank hasn't had a match up that I would adjust my schedule for his entire career. And to think about it, I doubt Tank would ever co-main with Canelo or Crawford on any card.

I thought so too, but perhaps they said Riyadh card? Assuming Riyadh meaning October-February, perhaps he's willing to fund cards outside Saudi from March-September??

Love canelo or hate him, he is bull like strong and not the young jr middle Floyd schooled. I agree with your post and although bud may start well, it will not go In his favour as rounds progress

I can see this being similar to Brook vs GGG. I don't think Canelo will have as little respect for bud power, as GGG had for Brook. However, he will not be concerned and will likely be in constant offense

Fair play to Bud, who will gey paid well and give it a go, but I don't think he can win this fight

I cannot envision any scenario where Canelo just doesn't walk through Bud.

This would be an overglorified exhibition match. Would rather Canelo have a rematch with Bivol or fight Beterbiev next.
