Thoughts? Seems a little more realistic than the alleged 5,000 https://www.pr.com/press-release/875021
Well, that may or may not be. But given this one seems to have contact information, I view it as slightly more trustworthy than a Reddit post that claimed 5,000 whilst misspelling Avanesyan.
This A side B side bull**** is ruining boxing. We can thank Floyd for it but the modern guys, Canelo, Spence are carrying the torch. I just want to see good fights and this diva **** is ****ing it up.
Luckily Crawford recognises he's the B-side here and accepted the smaller split so it's not what's holding this fight up. Whatever the real reasons are for why this has not happened it doesn't seem to be money. I also don't think Mayweather really created the A-side/B-side issue in boxing, it existed before Mayweather. Fights have always failed to be made when a fighter doesn't get what he think he deserves. Like the BHop/RJJ rematch that never happened because RJJ thought he was the bigger draw so wanted 60/40 in his favour.
5,000 rumour came from Alan's little army otherwise known as the alphabet boy community. Mean while Errol Spence Jr is looking REAL suspect. He keeps eating those choc strawberry cakes (It's warm) I heard there is no police report on the latest so called car accident.
I dont believe the 5k but I also dont believe this. My bet would be around 85 to 95k. 120k buys for this fight, in this market, and the current state of boxing, those would be solid numbers. But not even the people I know who do follow boxing tuned in for this fight. Nah I dont buy these numbers.
5k seems too low but 120k seems way too high. I saw no promo for it anywhere, did they have any promotion for it?
I feel like with 120k sales cards the forum gets like 50 page RBRs by the next day, while Crawford vs Avanesyan only had 9 pages.
The Reddit post I mean. It mentions only “television PPV buys”. And as Cris Cyborg said: This content is protected They needed to consolidate the buys from each platform and would only get the number “late next week” (which is where we’re at).
Considering that those are “worldwide” buys, I could believe it. If it was backed by a reliable source. I also think it is nearly an impossibility (that unlikely in my mind) that the fight sold less PPV’s than people attended the fight (which was just short of 15k).
