This op is smoking some goooooood shIIIIIIttt.. Oscar's 147 resume is a different level altogether. I think he beats Bud goes the distance.
100% not the blowout everyone would wish for. De la Hoya's only good win at 147 was over an undersized and shopworn Whitaker. He lost to the other 2 big names that he faced.
Crawfords and shanes styles are nothing alike. Crawford doesnt have the speed to beat a prime 147 pound oscar.
I give Oscar a lot of crap but he was a special fighter in his prime. Prime versus prime, Oscar beats Crawford soundly. Manny does as well, even less than prime Manny from a few years ago gives Crawford big problems, I believe. Crawford had a big size advantage at 135 and 140 and beat smaller guys. It’s harder to look that dominant against guys who are as big or bigger than a fighter, unless he’s elite. I’m not sure Crawford is elite but he’s still very good. At 147 he no longer has a big size advantage or a huge power advantage but he proved last night he can take out a strong athletic opponent at welter. I just hope we find out his good Crawford is, in the ring against top challengers.
De La Hoya by UD. Crawford is a slow starter, and would fall behind on points. Plus De La Hoya speed, jab and power would keep Crawford honest.
I like to think that we haven’t had any welterweights (not even pac or floyd) that could beat or clearly beat a prime ODLH or Mosley. Those guys had everything in their prime at welterweight.
He was awesome but he aged poorly because of his lifestyle. Crawford is very good and aging very well because of his lifestyle. If ODLH couldn't use his left hand then I agree, Crawford wins against one handed Oscar. Both guys have a great skillset. I think it would be a very good fight but I think Oscar stops him. Bud was not liking some of the punches Porter landed. Oscar was faster, more accurate, and more powerful.
