On paper a huge fight (at the time). Dawson had only lost to Pascal, but that was kinda a one off and he ended up beating the guy who beat the guy (Hopkins) and again became #1 at 175 while Ward was #1 at 168. I can just see Crawford scoring a couple flash KDs early and stopping Spence in a similar fashion. Although Spence isn't moving down in weight, I feel he's been at the weight class for too long now, plus Crawford is the superior fighter anyway.
Yeah have a feeling Crawford is going to make Spence look chinny and thoroughly outbox him. Spence is not the fighter he was years ago. He did well against ugas but ugas stood in front of him I hope Spence wins though.
Good comparison, I've felt exactly the same about this match well before Spence's accident. So what I've seen of Spence post-accident has done nothing but hardened that belief.
Yeah but Dawson made a HUGE sacrifice by draining himself down to 168. Spence was about to move up but it's not the same. Had the fight been at 175, i think the fight could've been different. Ward probably still wins but Dawson was a force at 175.
The draining issue was huge in that fight, plus the styles didn't come together well. I take the point about them being older and Spence looking a bit more vulnerable, but I think it will be a very good or even great fight.
I disagree, and maybe I am wrong but I have Spence winning and here is why. Every single Spence fight you watch looks like a Spence fight. He goes to work, presses the pace and keeps the heat on. Late in fights the opponent loses a bit of themselves every round. Spence dictates distance and pace. Crawford on the other hand will allow the other fighter to dictate in the early rounds. He eventually heats up, connects and changes the fight. I do not think this is going to happen. I see Spence using his jab to set up bodyshots and he is responsible enough to avoid at least some of the power shots Crawford will throw. I expect this fight to also look like a typical Spence fight and I think by the time Terrence heats up he will have had a lot taken out of him. Your theory of "flash knockdowns" isn't based off any sound logic imo because Spence has never even been down so why would you consider that as the most likely outcome? I'm not trying to knock you or anything but nothing in Spences entire history would suggest he is prone to any flash KDs not to mention Crawford is a notoriously slow starter. Not many seem to be taking Spence here so there must be something I am not seeing. It is a true 50/50 fight, I just believe Spence's style comes out with the W here.
An Ugas win is acctually something quite ridiculous. It was painfully obvious from the Manny Pacquiao fight that this Ugas guy is way less than anything special. And then Spence tried to parade it as some beating the man that beat the man.... fellow beat up on a former flyweight senior citizen.
I would be surprised to see a KO myself. I think Spence wins on points from his work in late rounds and ring generalship. With Crawford we are used to seeing him land so cleanly I don't see it happening as much here and that may reflect on the scorecards.
