Spence has had three quality opponents in a row now, despite bad injuries. Have to give him credit for that. But very frustrating if the fight with Crawford doesn't happen next.
Naw, we will never be 100%. However, judging from like opponents, the probabilities of it happening is around 90%.
It’s happening next no worries about that. Both men have said so and there are no promotional issues to prevent it.
Ugas was never on Spence's level and Spence had no problem with demonstrating that in magnificent fashion last night.
If Crawford wins this fight ( Which I think that he will ) that will make him one of the few or only fighters to be undisputed in two weight classes in this era.
Now he's chinny despite never getting knocked down, where as Bud has been dropped 3-4 times already. Ok
Spence is a perfectly fine fighter, but Crawford is something entirely different in my eyes. All I can see is the difference between McCrory and Curry back in the day. One was a talent worthy of holding a belt and the other was a killer. I think Crawford is the latter and I think he is less prone to lapses in personal discipline. He gives off the Larry Holmes "all business" vibe. Could be wrong, but that's what I see,
TBF, both give off that vibe. One reason I picked Spence over Kell was his unnaturally calm demeanor even though I was cheering for Kell.
Spence is very good at what he does, he’s elite. But he’s basic for Crawford. As a southpaw, he’s too orthodox and won’t enjoy the advantage of being a soıthpaw against Bud(I mean, has he even ever faced a soıthpaw, let alone a switch-hitter who’s very effective on both stances?). That said, I don’t expect a stoppage. I think Bud will get a clear decision in a competitive fight.
He’ll be the very first to do so in 4 belts era. Hopefully the fight gets made next without giving the sanctioning organizations the chance to strip Spence one of his belts.
My view on this is that it will go the distance - both Bud and Spence are dogs that have no quit in them. Lots of interesting facets to the matchup, but I think it will come down to a couple of related things:- 1) Can Spence impose his workrate and awesome bodywork on Bud early, laying foundations for the Championship rounds 2) Can Bud exploit some of the openings and counter opportunities that other fighters have missed with Spence's high workate and essentially negate Spence's best weapon I feel that Crawford is the smarter fighter - just check the first Porter knockdown, wicked - and has the ability to counter and snipe Spence and establish control of the fight. On the flipside, Spence has a workrate that could possibly mean that Bud simply doesn't have the same time to think he usually gets, and could be wary of the body/uppercut question that Spence posed so well for Ugas. My gut says Crawford MD, but would not be surprised to see Spence nick it in the championship rounds coming on strong. Should be a classic!
