Crawford would definitely lose to Ray Leonard, Hagler, and Hearns. He may have a chance against Duran but it is a slim one at that.

I think it's almost automatic to pick the older guys - their careers have long been over and their story has been written and is remembered in the most favorable terms possible. But I don't think Bud does so badly. Unfortunately, I can't say with certainty how he beats any of these guys and in fairness to him I can't say with certainty how they beat him either. I feel like he loses to Sugar Ray Robinson and Jose Napoles at 147lbs but I wouldn't write him off against any other fighters in history at 147lbs and below.

PS: If the old timers gain a lot from nostalgia, Bud is riding the wave of recency bias so it's probably better to try answer this after some time has passed.

Why could he not beat Hearns and Leonard?
He could ko Hearns and possibly outbox Leonard.
I wouldnt favour him but you cant write him off completely against the fab 4. Also take in mind he is probably a middleweight on fight night where back then they were legit welters with same day weigh in.

Crawford has nothing on his resume beyond Spence. Leonard has defeated all the ATGs that he has faced. Leonard defeated Benitez, Hearns, and Hagler. He avenged his loss against Duran. Boxers can only be judged by their resumes and Crawford's resume is nowhere near Leonard's.

    Depends...

Will the Four Kings be as badly drained as Spence was?

I'd favour the 4 kings for sure but he's 100% competitive with Leonard, Duran and Hearns - they would all be fantastic fights...... no idea how he would carry the weight at 160 against Hagler given he's only fought two divisions below at 147 so nothing can be said on that one.

Sure but then you need to also take into consideration where they were in their careers at that point.
Its like when People ask about Inoue vs Pac at 118. They take into mind the Pac that beat up Barrera and Cotto. But it should be the Ledwaba fighter.
I agree with you in general but feel there is a bias towards old fighters with these type of questions.
Same with Hagler vs GGG or Bhop.
Who did they beat compared to him? But they could still possible defeat him at 160.

Crawford would put up a good show against all four but ultimately loses to them all

Resume just tells us who’s greater. Not how styles matchup and who would win head-to-head.
