    Disagree.

Frampton and Loma have the case for this year.

Crawford had a solid year but Lundy and Molina are not elite level wins.

Loma dismantled Walters a fighter that KO'd Donaire and Darichyan- he took him to school so bad he forced his corner to wave off the fight.
He also KO'd Martinez a very good fighter.

Frampton beat Quigg and the highly regarded Leo Santa Cruz.

    My vote is Manny Pacquiao.

Timothy Bradley (P4Per and a perpetual tough out for ANYONE) and Jessie Vargas (who was on a rampage with a highlight reel TKO of unbeaten Ali and should have a TKO victory over Bradley).

Pacquiao dominated both whilst being old and shot.

By this type of logic boxing owes Adrien Broner FOTY for 2012 and 2013. He moved up from 130 to 135 to 147 and won belts in all 3 weight classes and skipped one. Thats the same props people gave to Manny and are now giving to Lomachenko.

Even going as far as giving him props for beating the man that beat the man. It reminds me of a guy that was doing that and people called it BS. He beat Mosley after Mosley beat Margarito, but he never faced Margarito but he don't get the credit of beating the man that beat the man.

    Let's take a closer look:

In 2012 Broner fought 3 times. Perez (130), Escobedo (135), and DeMarco (135). Good wins while going up one weight class, but not nearly top level competition. Still a good win over DeMarco and after that win, Adrian was riding a lot of hype (pound for pound status etc). Still nothing here says fighter of the year really. The opposition wasn't up to that level.

In 2013 he fought Reese (135), Paulie (147), and Maidana (147). Reese was a good win and title defense at 135. Then he moved up 2 divisions to 147 which would have been really something if it wasn't to face the lightest puncher in boxing. And still it was a competitive fight. Finally he decided to take on a real threat at 147 in Maidana and he got knocked all around the ring and ultimately LOST. You don't get fighter of the year coming off a loss. Had he won that fight, he would have probably deserved it.

well said! Title hopping and shopping should NOT be a criteria for greatness. But unfortunately, with many of the newer fans, they think it's the route to greatness. Funny thing is, you have a lot of the same guys who then say titles are meaningless. Go figure.

Crap? Let me hear your case that neither Lundy nor Molina is top 15.

    Disagree.
He is expecting quantity to outweigh quality.
Truth be told, not many fighters did much this year. Most had only one big fight.

Lundy lost 2 out of 3 fights heading into the fight with Crawford. Molina lost 3 out of 5 fights heading into the fight with Crawford. Crappy showcase opponents regardless of whether they were Top 15.

Big fan of Crawford and Loma, but it has to be Frampton, imo. He beat two undefeated fighters in fights that many thought he might lose. The LSC fight was highly entertaining and hotly contested. Unlike Walters who quit when the going got tough against Loma, Quigg and Santa Cruz forced Frampton to deal with real adversity. Both those guys came to win and brought the heat, but The Jackal proved to be too much.

Postol was the only high level guy that Crawford beat really, as others have said, which is not enough to top Frampton's two excellent wins. If Frampton had fought once more this year, even against a lower level opponent than he is used to, this would not even be a question.

The win over Postol deserves a lot more appreciation. Many saw that as a 50/50 fight. That said, Crawford doesn't have much of a case for fighter of the year. For me, it has to be Frampton or Lomachenko. Pacquiao, Ward, Gonzalez, Jermall Charlo all worth a mention.

    Been over this before.
If you want to make the argument that his two wins supercede other peoples acheivements, just do that, as that is literally ALL that matters.

The number of fights he has had is irrelevant.
    His "transitioning" is irrelevant.

If you think his wins are better than his challengers wins, just make that argument.

Its doesn't matter if hes had 2 fights or 102.

Although Frampton's opponents are better, he did not beat them as convincingly as Loma's two wins (LSC was genuinely a close fight).

So ... I'm happy with either Frampton or Loma.
