Crawford will retain his #1 p4p status no matter what happens in the Inoue/Tapales fight

If you think Crawford is p4p no 1, that's great, you're wrong, but that's fine. Using somebody else's opinion to justify your own in a subjective matter like p4p is laughable though, "this person said it so it must be true" , there are dozens of posters here that talk more sense about boxing than any revered publication online and any ranking system which is usually influenced by faulty algorithms and personal preferences (ie, opinions) , so being a boxing publication or ranking system isn't some game changing argument, the people at those publications are as fallible as any of us.

And also, stating it's Crawford and leaving no room for objection smells more of agenda than the well thought out opinion of a boxing fan, because as any true fan of boxing will tell you: its a very subjective sport, pretending it isn't just makes you look like a fanboy. The only thing that I'm concrete about is that Crawford is NOT p4p no 1, as there are too many fighters that pass the eye test equally well and have a better resume than Crawford.

And finally, if you honestly thought Spence was number 4 AT ANY TIME, even with all the subjectivity in the world, you are an amoeba

There’s a reason you’re not an aficionado and you’re here being wrong as usual while aficionados do what they do !

Crawford p4p number one and that’s undeniable

no one else is even close

He could've fought Ennis who was his mandatory, and he can also move up to 154 and fight Tszyu.

If Crawford still wants to fight at 147 then theres no reason why Ennis shouldn't of got his shot.

If Usyk beats Fury in Feb. And Inoue shreds through Tapales while Crawford fights Blair the Flair in his next fight for example, no doubt Crawford loses his position as number 1 p4p in my eyes. It all depends who he fights next. I think beating Boots or Stan next, keeps him where he's at.

Canelo schooled an undisputed Champ who was coming off the most impressive win of his career, who was in his prime, not clearly past it like Spence. On paper, that was a better win than any of these guys had. Say what you want about Jermell Charlo, the weight difference, or how he fought, etc, but Charlo was battle tested, proven and accomplished as a pro.

Between the win over Charlo and what he did against Ryder earlier in the year, Canelo has a good argument that he should be P4P #1 now. I don't expect anyone in this topic to agree with me, but to pretend like Canelo doesn't belong in the conversation as some of ya'll are doing, get real.

You wanna argue Inoue, Crawford, Usyk, have at it. You can just as easily argue Canelo should be #1 based on who he beat and the ease at which he won against two quality highly ranked World Champions John Ryder and Jermell Charlo.

Spence has a rematch clause....of which was initiated. It's been said multiple times already. And it's not news.

Crawford already said he can't fight anyone else until he fights Spence again.

It will be Crawford Spence 2 in early 2024

Translation - Bud chickened out about fighting Canelo. Remember on the Joe Rogan podcast he was all about fighting the winner of Canelo Charlo. Whatever happened to that MVC!? Bud was acting all confident back then.

I could see him doing that when the rematch is finished (A rematch which has to happen)

The same Canelo who won 1 round vs Floyd O_O him?

I could see Crawford beating him

Hahaha. Canelo won 3-5 rounds against Floyd, more than anyone had won against him in years. And that was a drained much easier to beat Canelo than today's Canelo. Just face it, Bud don't want that smoke. Bud saw what Canelo did to Charlo and was like Nahh I'm cool with dat.

    He won 1.

    Not 3, not 4, not 5

    1

Most aficionados had him winning 1, many even had him winning 0 LOL.

Canelo will never live it down, and then he got smacked around by Bivol.

    Floyd is the man's dad.

You must be suffering from memory loss my friend. Lets check the scorecards :

    https://cdn2.sbnation.com/assets/3224715/Screen_Shot_2013-09-15_at_1.52.35_AM.png

See all those 10s next to Canelo's name. That's a lot more than 1.

As far as being smacked around by Bivol, you can say that, but that fight was scored 113-115 x3. Both of Canelo losses were close on the scorecards. No shame in losing close decisions to Mayweather who was #1 P4P at the time and Prime Bivol in Bivol's weight class.

I respect Canelo a lot more for taking on those tough fights when he didn't have to, rather than fighters like Bud who have never fought anyone like those two guys in his entire career.

Canelo has taken on tough challenges throughout his career that's why he's a legend.
