So, I don't even watch this fight because people on this forum were saying that Crawford ran. For real? Crawford whupped that dudes ass. That was a legitimate opponent and a great win for Crawford. That's a hard fight. When you gotta fight a rangy guy with short punches who can box, that's a hard proposition when you're an opposite-stanced fighter, and you happen to be the smaller guy. Postol was a real threat and he came there to bang Crawford out, but Crawford absorbed a few shots early against a guy who is on paper, a stylistic nightmare, and still managed to not only prevail, but take over the fight. I have a lot of respect for Crawford. I'm a big fan. I think Crawford can fight. Where is all this talk about him running coming from? Did he box him, yes. Of course, but tell me what strategy you would use against a tall guy that's rangy, coming in with straight lines? You got two basic options. You take it to him or you let him come to you. Taking it to a guy like this, well...what happened to Mattheyse? You have got to use your head in this game.
Are you kidding? You see the shots Crawford landed in round 9? Really? Crawford tried his ass off to finish Postol. Where is Postol's credit? If anything, it shows Postol's tenacity.
Fellas, listen. There is running and there is boxing. Crawford was trying to whup the dude's ass. Trust me. If you're Crawford, it is hard to fight a guy like Postol. Postol is good and he has a great jab and a heavy right hand. Postol is also a big guy that's tough. He's not an easy fight. You try running right at him, and right into that big right hand. Crawford had to take some shots in this fight. He didn't get out completely unscathed, but if he would have taken the shots with forward momentum against a guy like Postol who is waiting to line you up, especially if you're a southpaw, then Crawford would have been knocked out. Crawford fought a smart fight and he landed some hard shots. You can't knock out everyone. Postol should have done a better job. Postol should have had the advantage being the longer, taller man. He should put the shorter guy in such a position where the shorter fighter can execute his plan with reliability. You need to limit people's options in boxing. Both men have jobs to do. That's the way it is. Ya'll have got to relax. You are taking it to another level. There is skill to this game. You think Kovalev would walk right into a fighter? Did he walk into Pascal who is a streetfighter that throws bombs from unorthodox angles. If Kovalev did that, Pascal would end up landing some bombs and knock Kovalev out. Kovalev boxed Pascal. And at this point in the game, Kovalev matched up well with Pascal, so long as Kovalev kept his distance and discipline. The same could not be said for Crawford vs Postol. Postol had the favorable stylistic advantage.
Don't be daft. GGG and Kovalev fans for the most part liked Crawford before he fought Postol. Everyone liked Crawford before he fought Postol. He had a killer instinct and went for the kill when he hurt people. He did a complete 180 in that fight and tried to mimic Mayweather and let Postol survive every time he had him hurt. It was lame.
The poster below you (post#2)and all Pac fans said that he ran. But they are saying that he ran on purpose. It's like they think that they are aggravating you, but boxing fans always prevail. TheyDKSAB
It was a fine performance. Postol couldn't push him past 3rd gear, and Bud won it comfortably. I just wish he'd turned the heat up and pressed for a stoppage to make a statement and drive demand for a Pac fight.
