Way I see it, there are two main reasons why people call that fight boring. I think a lot of people call it boring because after the 3rd round (and especially the 5th) it was all Crawford outclassing Postol while Postol had absolutely no answer for what was happening. Despite being completely neutralized Postol wasn't anywhere being finished so people interpret that as Crawford putting on a boring performance. I thought it showcased how amazing TC is as a fighter to be able to do that to a top fighter, and don't ever mistake that Postol isn't a top fighter. Also, neither fighter was very active throughout the fight. I think throughout the course of the entire 12 round fight they probably threw <200 punches combined. Once Postol felt a bit of Crawford's power in the 5th he became completely gunshy and Crawford wasn't about to go crazy and open himself up to anything big, but Postol was so tentative that fans feel that TC could have and chose not to, which goes back to my first point about forcing it to be a long monotonous fight.
Freddy doesn't want that fight as is. What makes you think Freddie would want that fight if crawford koed him Lol
Yes great comments, I haven't seen the fight yet but this post may make me pull up my HBO on demand and check it out. Thank you sir,
I didn't think it was such a bad fight to watch, not great by any means, but not so bad. Postol couldn't adjust at all, Crawford was just all wrong for him. Crawford wasn't running either, he circled around Postol and just didn't stay in the pocket when he didn't need to. Crawford looked great
Listen defeat is a hard pill to swallow and in most cases folks tend to never evolve past the pain and morph the experience into educational scar tissue. Postol was and is legit the man can fight but he wasn't just neutralized he was literally outclassed on every level from a fighter that's not even known for taking away another fighters greatest assets. I admit it was terribly exciting but it did provide the audience with a clear example of hierarchy. Your comment above just proves to me that you've never been in the ring but I can't deny your passion for the sport which is why I accept your closeted, subjective, narrow minded, insecure, socially awkward, ethnocentric, separatist, racially resentful self. Your a good dude for this forum but take the loss like a man...the superior fighter won the guy with more skills better pedigree and dare I say it the better genetic code between the two "humans" get it? "humans" not levels of melanin, land of origin etc etc.... I told you man get the heck out of Florida and see how real people live. lol
Crawford landed all the significant power punches that was sending Postol half way across the ring. If anything, Postol never showed up until the 12th round. Postol is garbage. I can't believe people thought he would actually beat Crawford.
They waited until after the Crawford fight and the ratings before going towards Vargas for a reason. Manny will take tough fights, but he's not going to take them for cheap. You can't honestly believe that the active fighter with the highest level of competition fought left in the game would duck Bud Crawford, and that's coming from a huge Crawford fan. I've been on the bandwagon for years, but that's just nonsense. It was a damn good performance. It just wasn't the transcendent one to make people clamor for a Pac fight immediately, and the buy rate sucked. In a strictly business/boxing sense, it's a shame he and Bradley are great friends that will never fight, because that fight would make a ton of sense for a number of reasons.
Yeah, everyone was clamoring for Pac v Vargas. Crawford has more of a public exposure than Vargas. Pac's people didn't want the Crawford fight and it had nothing to do with how "poorly" Crawford looked against Postol.
Pac has always been quite dynamic but if he didn't blow you away within the first couple of rounds and you had enough gumption to stay, adjust and use other dimensions of your game then Manny's effectiveness was significantly decreased. Crawford even with lack of 147lbs exp has several gears to his game he's a legit threat and not a good parting gift for PAC fans.
Good post. Also good post to CST. There are some "normal" people in Florida though. I doubt that CST knows any of them.
