Well, Canelo won almost every round and decisively KO'd Plant, a fighter in his prime, who's much bigger. Crawford lost 6 to 7 rounds against Porter, and benefitted from a bull**** stoppage, against a past prime, fairly inactive smaller war torn fighter. The answer is elementary... Canelo, and it's not even debatable.
No, Plant came and fought like Plant always fights. It's wor against most fighters, but not against Canelo.
Clearly Crawford's performance was better, no one knew jack **** about who Caleb Plant was before the fight was announced OTOH Porter is a proven commodity and has given a great account of himself even in his losses . Crawford finally figuring out Porter and landing his shots was much better to watch than watching Caleb Plant try to survive and then ask whether he was good or not in the middle of a ****ing fight.
Very similar, Canelo had somewhat more success against an opponent who was perhaps easier to deal with. The real differentiator was Canelo fighting BJS while Crawford was fighting with ____.
Canelo had a better performance. And he has a better resume. Bud's win last night should not change anything at the p4p list.
Pretty much. But still.. he was undefeated and rarely lost a round and not close to shot. Look, I rate Porter highly, and even picked him for the upset. But everything I said in my post is still on point. An older wartorn pretty inactive Porter, was winning with relative ease until he gassed. Crawford needed that KO unofficially. As with many opponents since making the move to 147. He's bailed out by his power. Yet doesn't get ripped for it.
