They both lost four. But Plant was a better win than Porter. And Canelo has a better resume than Crawford.
They both struggled but are to be commended for getting knockout wins late. Difficult to argue against Bud being P4P the number 1.
crawford dominated from start to finish. Broke porter down with bodyshots. Everytime crawford shook his head yes he hurt porter bad. Plant was up when he got stopped.
plant is just not on that level. he was even asking alvarez during the fight if he thought he was on that level. if you gotta ask.... porter isnt either. hes close, or been close, but he isnt peak now. porter is probably a tougher task at his weight, but i think plant can be more successful against his competition. plant didnt do as well, but he had a steeper mountain to climb.
This one IMO actually has a bit more going on under the surface 1) I rate Porter MUCH higher at 147 than I currently rate Plant, so it's not really an even playing field 2) Whilst Canelo did seem to have some slight frustrations with Caleb at times, the heavy, loaded bodyshot style he has now adopted, told the same way as they did with Saunders - both fighters got tired and got sloppy. Canelo has found a formula that works and he is exceuting it well with dogged determination. 3) Crawford's performance was a bit uneven - his highs were VERY high (that 1st knockdown was sweetly executed) - but he also seemed to be clinching a lot and Porter was tagging him more than he would usually get caught - but Porter was on his game up till round 8 and very disciplined I rate both guys 8/10. Plant had no power to get Canelo's respect and was not active enough to disrupt his rythym, so Canelo did not have to make any adjustments / face any adversity, but he did what he needed to do. Crawford look a bit uncomfortable at times but that's what Porter brings, every time. From around the 6th, I felt that Crawford was in control and was gradually timing Shawn better and better, and was taking over - I just wish there had been no stoppage so we could have seen 100% from both guys in the championship rounds
Based on their entire careers. Plant’s only notable win(Uczategui, who gave him a very tough fight) would barely be a top10 win for Porter.
