Dude, he was just telling him that to motivate his fighter to be more active. Trainers know what it takes to motivate their fighters.
**** you know about being in a corner? Who the **** are you to judge...****in' arm chair soldier over here. Some fighters are different. The ability to execute a plan or grow some balls can all be ignited through the right sort of motivation. Or even the will to continue can all come from the love of your family. Boxing is a lonely sport man. And there's nothing wrong with reminding a fighter that he's not alone in there. Advice is worthless if your focus or motivation is completely gone or fading. The best trainers can mix both motivation alongside advice. I think Manny Steward actually would've been perfect. Evangelista's ugly tension between him and Miguel also fueled him up a bit I think. Unfortunately for Cotto he was only given one side of the formula. I just seriously think there wasn't really anything Cotto could've done different to beat Pac...especially with an injured shoulder.
"Ayn yo gonna go doe you no sayin fuggin owt disbitchin hook tybe sun tayka futupizaz." ~Roger Mayweather. And I was like "Roger, don't tell him that! You're going to get him killed!"
This has got to be one of the funniest conversation between fighter and trainer in between rounds (Aaron Pryor-Gaetan Hart fight) Gaetan Hart, to his coach, between round 1 and 2 : "Oh my god, this guys is beating me up really bad" Trainer - "don't worry, he's not even touching you." Hart - "Really? so keep an eye on the ref because someone is hitting me!"
Buddy McGirt telling Gatti to "stick to the game plan" against Mayweather. Sorry Buddy, but the "game plan" was getting the **** kicked out of it, by round 3 he should have just told Gatti to go for broke.
