From Bowe trashing the WBC belt to Tyson biting Holyfield's ears. From Golota busting Bowe's grapes to Tillery fighting a kickboxing match, we saw it all in the most colorful era of heavyweight history. But what was the craziest thing to have happened in the decade?

    Answer the poll.

"But what was the craziest thing to have happened in the decade?"

No mention of Rick 'Elvis Parker and all the associated sleaze, corruption, violence, fight fixing and Mark Gastineau? Tim 'Doc' Anderson got life.

The whole Eric 'Butterbean' Esch thing, Bert Cooper vs Joe Savage were also pretty ridiculous.

IMO biting off a piece of ear is a "crazier thing" than a silly skydiver, but I agree Fan man should be in the selection.

Bite fight and fan man have to be at the top. Honorable mention to Golota throwing literal COMBOS to Bowe's nuts. Although there was that fight where Holyfield blatantly threw a headbut/nut-shot combo.

Tyson biting Holyfield’s ear, a former heavyweight champion biting off the ear of another during the biggest fight of the decade. Still a house hold incident to this day.

Fan man, big during the 90s, not necessarily unprecedented for a major sporting event to be disrupted by outside interference (Holyfield Foreman had a smoke bomb) but spectacular in how it happened.

Mccall Lewis, very bizarre incident for a heavyweight champion fight. Unfortunately we know know how deep Oliver’s issues were.

Golata crazy to see an athlete blow the biggest fights of his career like that and the ensuing riot, but even more crazy is it happened again. In hindsight he was an off guy (what was his problem?)

It's the fan man, then the ear bite, then everything else.

Such a crazy decade, I'm going to try it year by year. This is by memory so I may have missed some obvious stuff. I wont be offended if anyone fills in for my ageing memory.

1990: Tokyo. Massive underdog beats dominant champion The magnitude of this has faded over time. At the time it was surreal.
1991: Bowe v Tillery 1 although Ray Mercer nearly decapitating a movie star while the referee had a cup of tea might have only been a few more punches away from being the decade's biggest talking point.
1992: Larry Holmes hurling chunks at the end of the Holyfield fight
    1993: Fan Man
1994: Bowe clubbing Larry Donald at the press conference
1995: Nothing much really. Where was Bowe?
1996; He was waiting to get his knackers crushed, not once but twice, by Golota. Fight one with ensuing riot the most surreal moment although Tupac getting killed at the Tyson-Seldon 'fight' (which, with Seldon's capitulation to the punch that missed, would merit discussion in most other years) was a big moment.
    1997: Bite fight a clear winner with McCall's breakdown a sad runner-up
    1998: Nothing much, I don't think
1999: Again, no notable craziness that I recall.

Can anyone fill in 95, 98 and 99? Or contradict my picks for the years? 97 was certainly a crazy year when a DQ in a title fight for non-stop hugging gets third place.

    95 Tyson--McNeely
98--Nothing really. Tua aided himself in beating Rahman with a late punch and Bean got one of the most undeserved title shots ever.
    99 Tyson--Botha (arm bar), Lewis--Holyfield robbery
