Haha, no, you’re just delusional and should probably find another sport to watch. You’re not completely wrong but, in some sparrings you definitely go there to KO someone or not to get KO’d. Roach gave a $1000 bonus to whoever could drop Manny in sparring for an example. I sparred one up and coming heavyweight (that had beat someone up in our gym earlier) and when I had him hurt my coach said “finish him” and I KO’d him and he fell out of the ring. It happens, it’s a part of the game. You make a big mistake if you’re holding back, it’ll hurt both you and your sparring partner, saying that in most cases you take a step back when your sparring partner is hurt.
It's a brutal sport - things like this happen all the time. The thing that bothers me is that, if these dudes knew going in that there was a beef, they should've had a neutral guy ref the fight.
