Meh, by like two inches of verticality, and none have the broad shoulders or robust natural powerhouse frame.
I'm not saying they're great or anything. In past eras Briedis and Rivas barely contend. You're just not getting how awful the current title holders are. Both of them nearly lost to foes ranging from shot blown-up cruisers to mediocre club fighters and have remained undefeated solely due to sheer physical size (and politics) They are both abysmally bad, when placed in historical context with any other heavyweight champions. And I am including Braddock.
Its a break out fight for either. Whoever wins can take the next step up. I think its either going to be Washington late or Rivas early
lets see how badly rivas smashes washington first. and if he doesnt smash him and outclass him completely i dont want to hear about gerald having a great chin and defence. :dead
Fine but don't let me hear you extolling the accuracy or power of Dustin Nichols or John McDermott. Deal?
Fury is not being beaten by some guy who is about 6 foot. That's just ridiculous. Against Breidis, he'd have about 7 inches in height and about 40 lbs on Breidis. The era of the 6'1 215 champ is over, unless an absolute freak comes along.
Oh yeah? Forgetting that he came damn close to losing to 6'3" faded & blown up cruiser Steve Cunningham, struggled mightily with domestic level fatty "Big" John despite having six inches on him, was rocked by 6'3" Pajkic again with a half foot advantage, fought on even terms for a couple of rounds with 6'3" pensioner Rogie, was BADLY hurt by Nicolai Firtha - who is 6'6" but a complete feather-fist, and only just squeaked by an obese and inadequately trained 6′ 1½" Chisora the first time? ...but a very good 6'1" fighter with movement and power and enough intelligence to not let him maul and club away inside with fouls defeating him is "ridiculous", even in light of all that history? :huh
What's when he brawls and clowns, when he boxes from range and uses his head he's a lot better than you're giving him credit for man.
Ceja v Ruiz II is the best fight not taking place at the mecca this weekend. Winner of that would be a good bounce back for the loser of Frampton v Quigg, winner can fight Donaire, then let's do a rematch for all the belts
...against malfunctioning robots with no plan B, yeah. Let's see him try applying that cutie-pie Ali-wannabe movement against somebody worth a damn that isn't so inclined to let him get away with it. OH RIGHT - we already have...and with fair officiating, tiny little old USS gets a stoppage victory over Fury that night long before he could get clubbed into submission with a bevy of illegal blows. :deal
