It is impossible to do that when these are 2 of the biggest stars in boxing. That type of scoring only works for 2 unknowns. Even the judges are swayed by what they saw that night. The boogie man backed up & didn’t have any real answers till the 9th round. That is why he lost.
He should have went out on his shield.

100%. And the difference between both fights was, Canelo basically RAN in the first fight, he took large portions of rounds off while trying NOT to fight. GGG kept within range in the second fight, actually kept Canelo at the end of his punches, which is EXACTLY where he wanted him. And GGG fought the entire fight. Doesn't really take a whiz to realize the difference but of course canelo fan boys don't want to get it.

 

GGG was magnificent last week, I was sure he won the fight 9-3.

 

GGG already saw what happened when he pressured Canelo and knew he wasn't getting a decision after the first robbery. This is very similar in ways to Oscar vs Mosley 1 and 2. Yet nobody was saying Mosley chased Oscar backwards the second fight after Oscar was the aggressor the first fight. Sometimes working off the backfoot, allowing your opponent to walk into your punches is the best way to KO someone. The bottom line, when Canelo went backwards the first fight, he was taking a lot of rounds off not doing much, trying not to fight. When GGG took little half steps back, he was still OUTWORKING the younger fighter and staying busy 100% of each round, happily exchanging with Canelo. He kept within Range the entire fight, it was a TACTIC GGG employed he felt was his best chance at luring canelo in and Koing him.
Think about it, say that 12th round uppercut bomb GGG landed on Canelo knocked him out. Everyone would be talking about what a mastermind GGG is for the tactic he executed in baiting Canelo in all night.

 

8-4 was fair IMO for GGG. But didn't matter if GGG won 11 rounds. He wasn't getting more than 5 on two of those cards.
