First off, don't get me wrong, there's NO EXCUSE for what they did,,, and I think a 1 year suspension is way to light for this kind of bull****. Call me crazy, but for some reason I'm wondering if those little plaster pads were actually put there more for the purpose of protecting Tony's hands, rather than to inflict damage on his opponent. OK, go ahead, let the insults fly! But seriously, think of the physics of it... how much difference could those little pads tucked UNDER the gauze, UNDER the tape, AND UNDER the padding of the glove make to his power? Maybe if they were really HEAVY? (But they don't look like it) Again, they look more like something you might use in training to protect the hands. Any thoughts? :think... or am I just on crack??? :tired
There is such a thing and one of the pros I use to box with would keep the clay pad in between two wraps. We really don't know how much of a difference it would have made because it's something you have to touch and feel. Whether they were the clay pads used to protect the knuckles or tailor made to increase punching power we may never know. All we know is that the way his hands were wrapped THAT NIGHT is not the correct way in doing so.
i heard from a cousin that allegedly golden boy paid the california comission to plant the gauzes remember mosley said it was nassim who confoscated the pads and took them to him so he can se them
u are on crack margacheoto moved down to welter because he had no power at 154 even at welter he has no power after the williams fight they knew they had tochange things to make paydays that he was chasing for so long he could not to loose to cotto but his career is over because without the pads he is just a very mediocre fighter!!!!
i just read that bob arum its apealing the california comission on the margarito suspension because the cream that margarito had on his hands contained sulfur and calcium
this is probably true imo.. But regardless of the intention, one of the effects is that the fighter gets unfair protection to his hands while his opponent doesn't.And the other effect is that it adds damage to the punches and puts other fighters' health at risk. So its just plain wrong Utilitarianism wins. Margarito is ****ed. the intention does not matter
Actually, they were there as a tribute to his grandmother, who worked in a plaster packing factory. Tony will be cleared y'all will be as embarrassed as hell.
It's beyond arguement dude . . . irregardless what the effect could be . . . what's not allowed . . . is not allowed. That's the rules. :deal
If that were the case, which it isnt, and it is always funny to see someone contradict themselves by saying "he should be banned for life and its disgraceful" and following it up with...but what if...as a defense. What if my aunt had nuts? Shed be my uncle. There are no what ifs. If tony or his trainer had done this...they would have been making numerous public statements about it and the reasoning behind it. But they have not. capetillo has been deadly silent and all Margarito has said is " I didnt know"...which tells me it was for the purpose of inflicting damage...and yes he did know.
Cream? Why the **** would he have cream on his hand? And please...provide a link to where this is stated. The only cream I could possibly think of him having on his hands probably came from the handy he gave arum before the fight int he dressing room.
