    Duo,,,,,,,,,great points.

I forgot about the Holmes vs. Cooney fight.
    Just horrible scoring.

I'm trying to dig up the scorecards for Saensak Muangsurin vs. Saoul Mamby,,
    another horribly scored bout.

And awarding Roy the Val Barker Cup was an extraordinary gesture of apology to make amends for that outrage. Just three of 17 recipients were not Gold Medalists, and RJJ stands alone among the ten since Mexico City.

Even Muangsurin's Thai partisans found that one disturbing. Sweet Saoul was robbed of a five year reign encompassing perhaps a dozen or more title defenses.

When Saoul finally did lift that title from Sang-Hyun Kim in February 1980, the scoring was again very close going into round 14. I didn't see Muangsurin-Mamby, but I did see Mamby-Kim (on black and white videotape), and the scoring in Seoul was another outrage. Fortunately, Saoul laid Kim out with a pinpoint right and removed the scoring from consideration. (Despite Mamby's anemic knockout percentage, he could load up when he chose to, and I've seen him produce knockdowns with both his left hook and right cross. Not his temperament to normally try though.)

And one of them (Ford, I believe) said upon reviewing the footage with Cosell that he might have given Gerry yet another around on his card!:wall:nut

I can't figure out scoring judges, they seem to miss more by their angle, below the ring apron.
It seems a better view is from up above, just like viewing from television.

I had Larry Holmes up 7-4-1 in Rounds, and 116-109 in points.

Without doubt the most insane single card I've ever seen was the horrendous 119-110 card in favour of Paul Williams in his first match with Sergio Martinez.

The other two cards were 115-113 PW and 114-114.

Personally I had it to Martinez by a point. The very idea that Maravila won only a single round was ****ing bonkers. Nightmare card!

What about 112-116 in favor of ODLH in the quartey fight. that fight was razor sharp and was only about a point away.

Morita's card for Tyson is a pretty legendary one, no doubt.

Holy crap, didn't know it was that bad. Cooney gave a real spirited go of it but if he won 7 rounds (!), I'm a hamster. Neep neep.

The next night, the scoring for that one was the subject of David Letterman's top ten.
