of all the training methods, what are some of the crazy methods you guys have heard? I heard Josh Clottey used to run 12 miles per day.

Ann Wolfe has some weird methods. She was hanging a punching bag on a platform from the back of a truck and Kirkland had to run and punch at the same time. pretty unusual.

Sounds good to me. Makes him get into the habit of not being stationary and always setting his feet in order to punch. It's almost like a real fight. A good opponent isn't going to be stationary for you to hit him. That bag is always on the move.

According to wikipedia "Hagler had a unique training regimen in which he would hole up on Cape Cod in motels that had closed for the winter. For his "road work" he would take to the pavement in army boots, declaring running shoes "sissy shoes." He would run much of his route backwards to prepare for movements in the boxing ring."

Well it's good for conditioning but you don't really have time to set your feet and be in position to punch..

Oh, I get it now. He was searching for seclusion. I heard he would just stare at the ocean for hours to prepare himself mentally.

I remember hearing something about how brutal Roy Jones' Jr father used to make him train when he was younger. Like he would tie one hand behind his back and make him spar, or he would do slip drills under a slip rope with blades or slip under nails or something. If thats true, worked pretty well for him considering how great Roy Jones became.
