If you are aspiring to be the 'class clown at the classic forum', expand your repertoire.

"Toad-boy" has little to offer but pictures of choo-choo trains, archaic jokes about a jab that he knows nothing about, and chronic masturbatory posts about "MegaTyson".

Can't believe a thread about making a street gang from boxers went 7 pages.

Anyway the the type of guys you would want, may not be that trustworthy in your gang, and the tough fighters may not be gang material.

You need the guys that were true criminals, Halpern, Liston etc. The guys that will take a fall for your gang. I can't name 10 as I don't know enough of all their histories.

So if I was recruiting this bunch I'd start here. I'm sure there are many more, but remember the parameters above.

As a start the 2 guys above and Chuck Wepner (believe he did some shady things).

Mayorga may fit in but seems to me a lose cannon (so let's put him on the back burner)

    Think Lamotta is one also

    So I have 4

    carry on gents

I think it's too tough to pick only 10 fighters for a street gang but put a gun to my head and I'd say....Marciano...Dempsey...Tyson...Foreman...Lyle...Frazier...Jeffries...Ketchel..Quawi and of course Sonny Liston. Christ the guy made a living beating the **** out of cops which is why he had to leave St. louis and head for Chicago when a cop was found unconcious stuffed into a trash barrel one morning. The police chief basically sent out the word to Sonny to get out of town quick or be killed. You want that type of fighter in your gang. Ali wouldn't scare me in the street...Sonny sure as hell would.

Gonna list three viable candidates, and the reason why they would be valuable additions.

    * Kassim Ouma (former child solder during Uganda's civil. Methinks he'd be useful in a street gang as a result)

    * Floyd Mayweather Jr. (You read that right. Every gang needs a good instigator, who is capable of trash talking opponents and driving them crazy, slippery enough to avoid their retaliation, and tough enough to hold his own when finally cornered. Money qualifies on all accounts.)

    * Jeff Chandler (Like Qawi, was able to turn pro and do well with a limited amateur career because of the experience he gained as a street fighter in Philly. Read about the time he took a bottle off his back when confronting a group of thugs who jumped him in the street. Didn't stop him from dropping a couple of them. I'd say he's a good addition, wouldn't you?)

My "Sons of Anarchy" boxing gang.

    President:
Kid McCoy had the perfect Machiavellian mindset to lead the club. He was a brilliant tactician who could quickly figure out a rival gang's or company's strengths and weaknesses (I can easily picture him planning a Lufthansa heist caper). Plus he's easy to underestimate because he's scrawny and looks like a schoolboy. But he can lash out with lightning speed and KO or severely incapacitate an opponent with one punch.

    Vice President:
Bob Fitzsimmons. For all the reasons above. The only thing keeping him from rising to the presidency is his lack of Machiavellian proclivities. He could easily plot his leader's demise but he lacks the evil intent that was so much a part of McCoy's character. If this were a Shakespearean tale it would have been McCoy who would have overthrown President Fitz to claim the top spot.

    Consigliere:
Gene Tunney. Gene's brilliant mind compliments McCoy's own and their combined IQ could rule the underworld ala Lansky and Luciano. Plus Gene is a teak-tough Irishman who has no problems throwing the dukes when he must.

    Sergeant at Arms:
Tom Sharkey. Like "Tig" from S.O.A., Sharkey's lack of impulse control can be a liability(he was as hotheaded and prone to scrapping as any fighter in history). But Sharkey's naval experience and dealing with large groups of tough men at close quarters is invaluable. He is strong as hell, completely fearless and knows how to give orders in tense conditions. His gnarled fists, huge chest, short stature and piercing blue eyes give him a commanding presence that would make others think twice before challenging him or his club.

    Second Sergeant:
Rocky Marciano. A perfect, cool foil for the more hotheaded Sharkey. Ferocious Tom freezes the gang leaders/drug lords as he dictates the terms of kickback money to the neighborhood gangs while the henchmen all focus on Rocky, who stands silently behind Sharkey, watching them all for one false move, as stoic and immovable as their demands and the inevitability that the street gang WILL acquiesce to them.

    Secretary:
Bonecrusher Smith. His college degree and overall smarts make him a natural for this position. And who will harrass or attempt to mug him when he courier's the gang's weekly deposits to the bank?

    President's Bodyguard:
Sonny Liston. For this position the Pres needs someone who will discourage would-be assailants just by his appearance alone. Liston can exude more menace and fearsome energy than any fighter in history. And he can deliver on the rare occasions that he must take action, brutally dispatching anyone within his monstrous reach. With Liston behind him staring balefully at the world McCoy can come and go wherever and whenever he pleases.

    Muscle Guys:

    George Foreman
    Mike Tyson
    Jim Jeffries

All street fighters. All experienced. All can dispatch opponents quickly.

    Roberto Duran.
    Aurelio Herrera.
Both are experienced streetfighters and useful for purposes of deception. They are always our first line of negotiation and attack. Both are somewhat unassuming due to their small stature. But both are capable of sudden, unexpected explosions of violence that can leave several opponents unconscious before anyone even realizes that they are in a fight.

After Roberto and Aurelio knock a few heads around, Sharkey and Marciano arrive and take the negotiations to the next level.

    Benny Leonard

    Gene Tunney

    Jake LaMotta

    Rocky Graziano

    George Foreman

    Rocky Marciano

    Jack Dempsey

    Elmer Ray

    Joe Frazier

    Jerry Quarry

Leonard and Tunney would be my Council. Both demonstrated a high degree of intelligence and were able to move among the Upper Classes, Judges, Politicians, Businessman and the like. Graziano, LaMotta, and Foreman were Street Guys who knew there way around the Neighborhood. Along with Marciano and Dempsey they would be my muscle. Frazier and Quarry would be my Body Guards as well as extra Muscle when needed. Elmer Ray? The Man wrestled Alligators FFS.

    Mike Tyson
    Andrew Golota
    Ike Ibeabuchi
    Jack Dempsey
    George Foreman
    Roberto Duran
    Ricardo Mayorga
    Gerald McClellan
    Roy Jones Jr.
    Tony Ayala Jr.

These guys would be the actual fighting force of the gang, and they bring the right mix of size, insanity, punching power, aggression, and enough skills. Furthermore, the cockfighting ring RJJ brings and the dogfighting ring of Gerald could help provide a little financing.

Other affiliates of the gang would include:

    Oscar De La Hoya
    Gene Tunney
    Wladimir Klitschko
    Vitali Klitschko
    Marco Antonio Barrera
    Juan Diaz
    Juan Manuel Marquez

None of these guys would get their hands dirty or actually participate in the street fighting, but DLH and Tunney would be the publicly respectable front men and brains of the organization, as well as the guys supplying most of the money for the gang's activities. The Klitschko brothers would be the team medics and serve as the interpreters/bodyguards for DLH/Tunney when they're doing business deals. MAB and Juan Diaz would be the lawyers for the gang, and JMM is a trained accountant, so he would help manage the finances of the organization.

Leader: Ali. Trash talk and charisma. Big. Could catch any street thug with a fast shot and crush him.

Roy Jones: Athletic, superhuman. The Raphael of the group.

Tae-Shik Kim: He would just steam in and brutalise everyone.

Jung-Koo Chang: Nails street fighter, hence why he had success so quickly with little experience. Would bamboozle knife-wielding thugs with feints and then swarm all over 'em.

Samart Payakaroon: He brings the all-round game. He isn't going to get hit, and can utilise the science of 8 limbs to batter everyone in sight.

Bunny Davis: Bar getting shot he's unflappable, a devastating hitter, and from the streets.

The 'baddies' would include Foreman, Monzon, Sung-Kil Moon and G-Man.
