Rules: - You must use current British boxers - You must use a different boxer for each attribute Jab - Cross - Hook - Uppercut - Bodypunching - Counterpunching - Defence - Footwork - Speed - Reflexes - Stamina/work-rate - Power - Chin - Ring IQ - Heart -
We don't have that many top fighters And ****ing Woods retired this week - every **** else has a question mark over them, at best, in the Chin department.....
Well, everybody has some quality in a certain area. Even if they are a prospect, or a domestic/European class fighter, they might have one particular attribute that stands out. It's just the rest of their game is not quite there. Froch comes to mind for Chin.
Yes, he does - especially given that you have listed stamina and workrate together (correctly btw). Jab - Cross - Hook - Uppercut - Bodypunching - Counterpunching - Defence - Footwork - Hatton Speed - Reflexes - Stamina/work-rate - Power - Haye Chin - Froch Ring IQ - Those are the ones I have settled on thus far - some of the other guys could fill more than one position so I am toying with those ATM.
Jab - Brook Uppercut - Froch Defence - Napa Footwork - Hatton's footwork is underrated, IMO Speed - Khan Reflexes - Khan (remember the bobbing and weaving in the eighth?) Stamina/work-rate - Lindsay Power - Haye Chin - Mitchell (now Woods has retired) You missed out Heart, TFFP - Jennings As Beeston says, I'm also struggling to think of more:think.
Now you've got to find somebody else for bodypunching if you use Hatton there. Matthew Hall is one that comes to mind for me. Stamina/work-rate...Jason Booth.
You can't use Khan twice dummy :tong I'd use Khan for speed because he's so far ahead of the next contenders in that department. Kell Brook can match him for the jab. Even Colin Lynes is a solid choice, excellent jab.
Brook does have a really nice jab, should have picked up on that. Was thinking of Munroe for counterpunching and defence.... but he doesn't really defend, he just covers up. Is Moore more of a hooker or crosser/straight puncher....
'Dummy'. Thanks. At least I stuck my neck out and gave a list:bart. Right, I shall have a think on reflexes- my list is the best I can think of so far. I think Haskins also has a nice jab but Brook's is better, IMO:good.
Jab - Lynes Cross - Brook Hook - Small Uppercut - Bodypunching - Murray Counterpunching - DeGale Defence - Napa Footwork - Hatton Speed - Khan Reflexes - McCloskey Stamina/work-rate - Booth Power - Haye Chin - Froch Ring IQ - Heart - Witter
Excellent choice, Murray for bodypunching. Has more variety than Hall who tends to just wing away and hope some hit. Murray picks them better.
It's a shame you can't have Calzaghe and Woods..... Move Froch from chin to uppercut, Woods in the chin area and Calzaghe for ring smarts. We really do lack a ring general these days.
Thaxton had a good uppercut...before he was shot. Havn't seen him use it effectively. Tough one...uppercuts aren't prolific. Froch has the worst uppercut ever for the most part. Well, the one he throws from the outside is horrible. The tighter one that hasn't been in evidence since domestic level is good.
