I see the top 4 being in no order: Riddick Bowe, Lennox Lewis, Mike Tyson, and Evander Holyfield.

The final would most likely be Lewis and Bowe. Tyson really was a shadow of his former self just during these times, Bowe and Lewis would have both had the size and reach to beat him I feel.

Ruddock vs Mercer would have been fun as hell. Mercer would take heavily artillery and still come forward, he always did.

I would ask why u guy would torcher yourselves. But hay Pac has a win over Hoya and will be fighting Cotto next. So anythings possible. Forget the welterweight, too much money in that division. I think HBO would have a chance at cruzer weight or any of the 130 & down division to creat a tournament.

But yes, what you said about a 147 tournament not being likely, given other alternatives, is likely true. At least, if the tournament were to involve Pac and/or Mayweather.

Hamed was finished by then, and Chi gets badly outclassed by all of them.

 

I always thought Hamed was a touch below elite.

Using the same Featherweights in 2002 rubric,

I'd substitute Hamed for the other Marquez brother (try to get em both in there, if they're willing and able to make weight), and Injin for.. well, frig. I'll cheat and say one of the up and coming Japanese boxers of today =)

 

How do you feel Rafael would have dealt with Hamed at Featherweight?

I've not got a lot of great things to say about Naseem Hamed, but he would have surely destroyed Rafael Marquez up at 126lbs. He gets hit to often, has never campaigned above 122lbs, and Hamed was one of the hardest hitters to ever campaign at Featherweight. It's a bad stylistic match-up for Rafael, and I know you weren't pitting the two against one another, just an interesting discussion.
