It is good to see a 43 year old fighter who is still mentally sharp. He obviously enjoys boxing, the money it brings and also his good health.

There would be nothing worse than to see Hopkins turn into another Holyfield, a deluded fighter who will only bring pain and defeat to himself.

So full credit to Hopkins for admitting he cannot beat Calzaghe at this stage and for taking on a less impossible challenge in the form of the Tito-Jones winner. Nobody wants to see Hopkins hurt against Calzaghe. Enjoy your health Bernard, don't throw it away, don't fight Joe Calzaghe.

Nobody should critise Hopkins for wisely ducking Calzaghe. It would be insanity for him to do otherwise.

Anyone is entitled to believe in what they want to, if that makes one feel better. And since it would be insane, good thing that he wised up and Calzaghe gets full merit for it. Next wise thing will be Holyfield retiring and Calzaghe can well do what he feels like, I'm sure a whole lot of people don't give a damn about what he does or doesn't.

Would you give Hopkins credit for wanting to fight a grizzly bear? No. It would just be stupid of him.

Joe Calzaghe is ten times worse than a grizzly bear.

Trainer tells light-heavyweight to ignore Calzaghe offer"

He hasn't used those exact words, but he hasn't very effectively hidden his fear anywhere between 2002-2007. Jones - Trinidad!

What do you think it was? Sakio Bika's recent rise to super-stardom or Peter Manfredo's valiant attempts to beat Mora? Seeing that Calzaghe beat both of those elites, I wouldn't want to fight him either!

Alfonso Gomez is flying high now, maybe he can step in for Bernard.

exactly my point trainer says ignore the offer and better yet it comes from sky net news ... the fight will take place and im not saying hopkins wins but the man damn sure is not afraid of anyone including roy jones... that fight never took place because jones is a moron for wanting a 60/40 split anyway this thread is useless .... thanks for pointing out the article

Jones is a moron???? Jones was universally known! Charles Barkley interrupted the broadcast of the NBA playoffs at the shock and awe that Jones lost (which was after the fact, but still shows Jones's popularity). He was P4P #1 and viewed at as the "Michael Jordan of boxing", no exaggeration. Hopkins had beaten Trinidad and nobody knew who the **** he was :deal Also Jones had won their first fight. Hopkins is the moron for demanding anything more than 40%.

holy ****, can you imagine bika-hopkins!!! :admin

that would be one major foulfest.

bika would inevitably crush b-hop, some of joe's supernatural powers rubbed off on sakio.
