A few people have compared Joshua to Bruno

Had Bruno been hit by the punches Joshua took early on he would have lost the fight

No question

Bruno couldn't take those punches

And Richie Woodhall said the uppercut Joshua threw would knock out any heavyweight in the world

The power is there and he can take a punch

It's going to be an exciting ride

AJ didn't impress me tonight. Whyte is just a tough street fighter and AJ struggled.

 

Who are all the heavyweights that would beat Joshua

Few and far between

He may have weaknesses but they all do at the moment

It's not a strong division

Just what AJ needed.

AJ seriously needs to fix up this habit of hitting after the bell. He's done that in a number of different fights

 

If Joshua had KO'ed Whyte in 1 some of you would be saying "proves nothing he's still a glass chinned fraud".

He took some hard shots, kept fighting and adapted to the situation against a good fighter in Whyte. He had some weaknesses exposed no doubt but nothing that can't be ironed out with time and experience.

 

It was in response to the many people on here who claim AJ is already one of the world's best.

I think AJ did a good job.
We did not see him push over and knock-out another fighter, we seen him fight.
The 5th round was the best boxing round from AJ I've seen this far, he showed that he is more then a knock-out artist and that he can box as well. He also showed he can take a punch and his stamina is OK.
Off course, Joshua is not ready for world level opponents yet, but last night he had his best learning fight since turning pro.

 

He got hurt, adapted and didn't go down. I think him being hurt will actually help him in his career; he knows what to expect now.

Whyte isn't that great a boxer, but - despite those who claimed otherwise - we already knew that. He does hit hard though so is always a threat. How he progresses will help measure how good a win this was for AJ
