Cringeworthy cheesy overdone over the top German cards.

I'll be honest and say I havn't seen it yet, but a lot of places have been guilty of cheesy video packages and buildups for their fighters

 

I'm not sure who it was, might've been Rampage Jackson who said something about Japanese fans being true fans of MMA 'cause they come to actually sit down and watch a fight rather than just come for a night out and a sing song. I know what you're saying Craney, a bit more of an atmosphere wouldn't hurt, but then at the other end of the scale there are fans turning up to an event who don't even bother watching the undercard 'cause they're too busy getting smashed. TBF to the Klit fans in Germany, there's not a whole lot of action for them to cheer. It's usually jab, jab, jab. They do make just as much noise as anyone else when the action heats up. It's just the rest of the time they're really quiet whereas other fans would probably be chanting/singing.

 

I think Rampage Jackson is a ***** and a moron but that's a good point from him if he did say that

I think that's why fighters always liked fighting at the Kings Hall here in Belfast, even if the local boy was upset, the crowd would still give due appreciation to the winner, rather than chucking bottles into the ring

even though a Kings hall crowd and a German/Japanese crowd are different things entirely, they still appreciate good boxing

 

Someone mentioned the white ring.....I like that.

Is there some kinda undercurrent with regards to it ?

The cheesy adverts someone mentioned........wasn't it the Germans who dished this up ?

Am thinking Sven Ottke with his back plastered in dye........though I remember Hopkins was much n such the same.

In America they used to have Golden Palace adverts on their backs all the time, remember those days?

 

Didn't even remember this fight was last night, such a pathetic opponent, a joke infact

It's more to do with RTL (the German broadcaster) than it is to do with the fighters I'd imagine.

Its too over the top for a fight against a no hoper nobody ever heard of and who had no chance of winning.
It makes him look like a sap.
