I'm still waiting for a news report that Doug Tucker heard about the scores and freaked out, immediately contacting the authorities to let them know there'd been a huge mistake.

That is going to happen, right?

That has to go down as the worst scorecard in the history of the sport of boxing, how can anything be worse than that? the hideousness of that card will never be surpassed...:patsch

Mijares is great but i cannot believe how much love is going to this guy for beating a B level fighter, and no love is going to Montiel who destroyed an A level fight in Castillo....the last guy to officially beat Mayweather I believe.

But the problem with Castillo is that he used to be A level. He's not anymore and it's quite evident he's on the decline. If he was in his prime, I would have picked him to beat Montiel. He could have gotten the better of him from the outside and took advantage of Montiel's balance and defensive openings.

Still, I'm not trying to take anything away from Montiel who had the most dominating performance of the night.

First of all, he beat Martin Castillo, not Jose Luis Castillo. Second of all, Castillo didn't "officially beat Mayweather", he lost a close decision that could've gone either way. And Castillo is no longer an A level fighter, if he ever was.

And how could you even confuse the two? Jose Luis is a 140 pounder, Martin is a 115 pounder. You think after fighting his entire career at 135 and 140 in his last fight with Hatton, Jose would suddenly drop down 25 pounds and fight at 115, when well past his prime? That had to have been a joke post.

I respect that, its hard for me to take since Castillo still looked good beforehand and i havent seen him declined as much in last nights fight in his previous fights, whereas Montiel looked bad in 2 of the 3 fights prior to this one

    Whoops.

Well, even in that case, Floyd "officially" lost in the Olympics to someone else, even though it was a robbery. So Castillo was not the last he lost to.

That's true as well. Montiel was looking real hittable in his recent fights. I thought he'd win convincingly on Saturday, but I also thought it was a pretty evenly matched fight. I guess Castillo is further gone than many of us thought, whereas Montiell is still a big factor.

Mijares/Montiel needs to be made later this year. But in the mean time, Montiel/Arce would be a war.

Even less with Castillo and Mayweather, considering the size difference between the two nowadays.
