This one was literally just made up for this specific bout.

Then again, I'm in the 2% that thinks Likar Ramos was legitimately kayoed by JMM. :yep (and Liston was legitimately downed by a quick right hand in the Clay rematch)

 

Mijares is by far the fastest to ever stop Julio.

All four of Julio's losses were by stoppage. Two of the previous three were to good, proven fighters. (Cordoba and De la Mora)

 

Getting blitzed & stopped.

That much speed & power (along with size) will beat out timing & technical skill every time.

I'll be rooting my heart out for Mijares but give him very little chance.

 

Mijares' older brother Ricardo "The Chameleon" Mijares was on the card, too. Comeback bout after being stopped in his first career loss. I don't think it was televised...

He either won by TKO8 or lost by TKO8...the way the updates are phrased in Spanish are not smoothly translated..:huh

 

Yeah...destroying Montiel, shutting out and petrifying the daredevil Narvaez...Donaire has more than proved his mettle as p4p elite...

An aging counter-punching technician like Mijares punching above his peak weight (despite looking fairly strong against middling opposition) really doesn't seem to have much to build any hope on in this match-up...

Donaire is faster, more powerful, sharper reflexes at this point...

 

I did, but all three judges (and many fans) had it a shutout...and even in the RBR thread that night I acknowledged that I could see it being that wide with a few of my Narvaez rounds being scored mainly on defensive prowess and very low output using a style that many people find off-putting and not worthy of rewarding with points...
