Cristian Mijares returns to the ring, and for a bantamweight world title fight, as promised, but for Chrissakes, CAN WE JUST STOP HAVING THESE INTERIM F*CKING TITLE FIGHTS? Is the champion Anselmo Moreno injured, or WTF? How does either Mijares or Cermeno (not a single notable win in his unbeaten record) qualify for a world title, even if it's SHInTerim? :-(

Anyways, so excellent technician Mijares returns for the first time after the brutal beating he took against Vic Darchinyan, and it will be his BW debut, where Cermeno had most of his fights. Date is 3/14, place is Torreon, Mexico. Of course I look forward to this excellent boxer's return, he built a solid resume and cracked into the P4P list before the shock loss that made people jumped off the bandwagon. Not me though. He might not be the same fighter after the loss, but a convincing win can put him on the radar at BW, and with Montiel moving up, we might get this big match-up fans demanded just 6 months ago.

    Go Cristian!

It's not a mout watering affair but nonetheless watchng Mijares is always nice. But why is he moving up?Did he have problems making 115?Vic might move up too si he might get a rematch if he controls this division quickly.

Mijares is ready to shine again! :thumbsup

"I've prepared very well. I'm hoping to win a title for the second time in my career. I'm two pounds over the limit so weight will not be a problem. The weight will be on the mark by fight time. In the not too distant future, I'll find myself with Vic Darchinyan at this weight, and there is unfinished business for me with him,"

    I don't have a problem with it.

He's coming off a bad kayo loss & this fight will put him back in the winner's circle & position him nicely for a shot at the real WBA title.

He wins that & the rematch with Vic will be on.

It's nice to hear Mijares say it. I also think he has unfinished business. Vic was the better man last time out, but Cristian can win that match-up if he does everything right.
