Who is this Cermeno kid? Certainly doesn't appear to be a soft touch return opponent - kudos to Cristian for not taking the low road after getting blasted by Vic.

Few factors there.

1) He underestimated Vic.
2) Vic put on a career performance - this was not the man that lunged into (and was obliterated by) a Nonito Donaire check hook.
3) Cristian, despite being the more "conventional' fighter on that night, is generally accustomed to being the one presenting the odd angles. He'll always eat other skilled technical boxers alive and can neutralize straight-forward punchers with his d, solid chin, and countering ability; but sustained awkward aggression is just something he hadn't encountered before.
