Hopefully Rafael Marquez retires now, doesn't need to take anymore punishment. :-(

    Jim Gray interviews.

Esquivias says he always starts very slow and got tagged well in the first two by Marquez, but knew it was 10 rounds and he would finish well.

He gives Marquez full respect and says he is a longtime fan, and Marquez is a great champion.

Marquez interrupts (politely) and says nobody has ever hurt, dropped, or knocked him out the way Efrain did.

Marquez basically retires. He says he will need to mull it over, but from his body language - and the fact that he won't have Nacho in his corner anymore - it's obvious.

He says he felt in the first round he landed good enough punches he thought he was in with a chance to win by knockout. He says he just doesn't have enough fire to maintain. This is what happens when you go downhill, everybody ages. He thanks all the fans for their support over the years.

Esquivias wants a champ, any champ.

    76-76 77-75 twice.

    I was right.

Jesus Farhood had it a draw too.

Why do they keep mentioning Johnson and Austin like those are the highlights of Marquez's career? :?

He did legitimately take 1 of 3 in the greatest trilogy of all time, as well..

I have the strangest feeling that for some inexplicable reason, Mitchell will be declared the winner at the end of this. :huh

Cannot wait. I stayed up for this one. I am fully expecting a brutal highlight-reel KO.
