Least Bowe took his beatings like a man instead of turning into Hannibal Lector because he was petrified of pensioner Holyfield...
I don't think the Bowe fights ruined Golota, at least not physically. They exposed his mental fragility. They mave hurt his confidence, but they did not ruin him physically. Years later, he still showed decent reflexes and boxing ability against Byrd and Ruiz. On the other hand, the Golota fights completely ruined Bowe physically. He was totally shot after these fights.
Totally shot? Bowe retired. His brain was injured. Golota could do okay against guys who were not big punchers. But after the Bowe fight, when he got hit really hard, he checked out quick.
Bowe was really good at turning up the pressure on a guys nuts when he needed to get them outta there.
Could have been should be his middle name. He had so much going for him in 92. He had the size, great at working inside, a decent chin, a not bad punch and charisma. What he didn't have is the dedication to stay in shape and focus. He'd have done well in the decade if he'd kept fit and not let the fame and good life go to his head. Apart from holyfield there are no major names on his record so that hurts him. I would have picked him to beat most apart from Lewis in that time frame and that's a fifty fifty for me. Definitely a could have been a ATG.
This content is protected Good interview with bowe back in 1992, he looks like a nice guy, classy and inteligent
Too bad how he blew his career, watch the video i posted below, he seems like a great guy.. I think he should rate high in h2h sense... He is top 5 in my book, the most complete shw
