Don't be too mean - it's me!!! Lol What you think ? How can I improve? The lad is a novice no bouts and less then a years training 1-2 sessions a week [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vwiy_M-m1DY[/ame]
Good for combinations and headmovement but I would like to see a little more ring movement work in there (ex. combo, move forward, slip, new combo). But maybe you're just not looking for that sort of thing here and it's just combos/headmovement (which looks good).
Bloody hell it werent that bad. Judging by your title I was expecting you to fall over or summat. By the way that 'meeting the punches' technique is really the bog standard approach, happened every time I have been on the pads as well. Although I think Padwork is tad overated in terms of the things it's supposed to offer (compared to say a floor to ceiling ball for instance) it can be very effective with the right routines. 'Pyramids' are good for cardio, have a look into that one.
Lol he was just being modest, brown bomber was quite the boxer in his day; fought for a title I believe
Comeback tomorrow too dude. Appreciated lads- not trying to be showy on that vid was just doing some low key stuff to show the lad what he looked like- he leans forward to much when he punches and drops his non-punching hand. Usually move a lot more if we're simulating a round of boxing. Thanks though. I've got faster drills and stuff but wanted to get a bit of input- tell me more about pyramids- think I know but, go on,....
possibly your hands are too far apart? hard to tell on vid. i like trainers who throw punches back too. i als like to work on one combo for a minute, or a round and then do another one so you repeast same thing dozens of times to get it remembered!
That was actually pretty decent. Also it'd help to get that guy to move more after each combination instead of just standing there and maybe try to get the guy to initiate combinations as counters.
Very nice. If anything, perhaps take a half step back, you can still meet his punches but he gets more range on his straights. Also, your guy is looking pretty slick for less than a years training, I'd love to see some sparring video.
