-your opinion is too stupid and one sided to be anything other than trolling, there are reasonable issues with duran's career that i would agree with, this silly one sided **** is trolling. Unless you really believe it, in which case i just think you are sad and blind.

    - srl was/is clearly bigger than duran, stronger i'll accept is debatable. srl still fought his own fight, he prepared what he thought was his best chance to win given his style and power.

    - you think he lost to every top fighter he faced because you want to think that, cuevas, barkley and buchanan were all top fighters at the time of the fights.

    - no, he wasn't in the best shape of his career, you are just lying, massivley and without a shred of evidence. srl himself has said he pushed for an immediate rematch because he knew duran wouldn't be in shape.

    - i think he is in the top 4 lw, none of the 4 went undefeated. De jesus was a very good fighter and beat duran in a non title 10 round fight, it was a great result from esteban but duran then beat him twice.

    - yes, marcel was a great fighter, calling buchanan or dejesus great would be barrel s****ing, marcel was great.

    - they were very good and he beat them 3-1.

    - no, i left these posts for the reason stated, not to get drawn into trying to argue with a painfully obvious troll.

    duran = unskilled = poor troll/blind person.
duran = protected lw champ, used diuretics to make weights, frustrated by defensive opposition, partied away a couple of years post montreal, inconsistent performer at higher weights.= actual criticisms made by someone with the knowledge to make it.

you're indignant. you take umbrage to someone actually questioning duran's greatness. you validate your opinion by calling others who disagree with you trolls, implying that their criticism is so outrageous it couldn't possibly be meant to be serious... how you think that makes you look?

obviously you're a big fan of duran....especially since the only criticism you have is that he liked to party...yeah, real harsh of you.

look, dude...if you want to consider cuevas, palomino, barkley, moore, marcel, buchanan, dejesus and the whole lot of them "top fighters" knock yourself out...i guess anybody could really qualify as a top fighter depending on how it's defined....to me it means something else than it means to you, obviously.

why do you buy that duran was not in shape for the leonard rematch? did he look out of shape in the fight? did he give any indication before the fight that he hadn't trained? that " i wasn't in shape" excuse fighters give when they lose is some tired old bs that anybody should see right through...benitez was famous for that...always saying he wasn't in shape whenever he lost a fight. of course it's never said BEFORE the fight. it's after they lose, they come with that weak a88 "well, he only beat me because i didn't train" almost as if they don't realize it makes them look not only like a liar, but also like an idiot. but for fans like you who believe them, it makes you look even more of an idiot.

All the greats have losses in their resume. It is also part of the game. Duran took all challenges from best of the bests and never ducked anyone. And most of his losses were against guys naturally bigger than him. IMO he was the best lightweight ever and also top 10 p4p ever. So who's career you are no laughing at?

people will now only need to read that post, and compare it to the post it was responding to, to see you are indeed a troll.

did you miss the whole list of real duran criticisms i wrote at the bottom before you decided i am a duran fan with 1 criticism?

edit: any new fans reading this just go do some basic reading about the buildup to no mas, then watch it, the op has clearly done neither and is embarrassing himself with blatant lies.

you want new fans to accept duran's version of the story. his lame excuses and his lies, huh? well, if they're smart, they will use their own brains, unlike you. they'll see that duran indeed looks quite fit in the rematch. not an ounce of flab on the man. but there he is AFTER the fight saying he didn't train and he got sick and his dog died and a whole sob story....just giving everybody the blues. and fools like you eat it up....believe all that sh8t. as if a champion with 10 years experience at the world class level actually decided not to train for the biggest fight of his life. i bet you would believe in the easter bunny if duran said so too.

duran was clearly a scumbag...a great fighter but a person with no scruples and no principles. he would rather disgrace himself by QUITTING than lose honestly. that speaks volumes about his trashy character...and when you come down to it, that's the thing that really counts.

i would not want new fans to believe your lies, if they care they will do the tiny amount of research needed to prove you are just lying and trolling.

no mas was indeed a huge embarrassment, one brought on as much by carlos eleta taking millions to put duran into a fight he was never going to be ready for, as by duran, who as i have freely admitted, blew up partying after the first fight.

Why am i believing duran's excuses? because i believe srl when he talks about making the fight? why would leonard make excuses for duran? This stuff is not new, controversial, or even hard to find, you just don't want to see the obvious and well accepted truth.

It is an explanation not an excuse anyway, i put more of a black mark for not training than i would for a loss, so no, it is not an excuse for the poor performance, it is a legitimate reason for it tho.

duran lost 16 fights, 4 within the distance, only quit once.

I thought you were trying to say duran was unskilled and overrated? what does being a trashy scumbag have to do with that? nothing, it is now the only thing that counts because everything else you said has been shown as wrong.

where did i use the word "unskilled" to describe duran? dude, what is up with you people and all this making sh8t up and putting words in people's mouths and schit? is reality by itself to complicated for you? i know that duran had some skills...as you pointed out, he beat palomino and cuevas and barkley and moore....he needed some degree of skill to do that.

what i saie was duran was being called "great" ...and was he really great? because he LOST to every great fighter he faced...the ONE win he has against a great fighter was VERY questionable on several different levels. If any other fighter had the record duran had, they wouldn't be considered top 10 pfp all time....top 50 maybe.

Look, if you want to believe duran's bs excuses about the leonard rematch, it's on you....all the information we have about that is from duran and his trainer....and all that came out AFTER the fight. no sign from BEFORE the fight....look at duran entering the ring...look at him fighting the first 5, 6 rounds....no signs he's outta shape or weak.

you want to use leonard's remarks as proof duran was not in shape...because srl says he knew duran liked to overeat between fights...as if srl really knew duran like that. as if srl was a mind-reader and a psychic. fact is, srl had NO IDEA what duran would and wouldn't do. if he heard some hearsay about duran and used that bit of information, fine. But that's not a valid basis for an argument that duran came in out of shape or got sick before the fight. you need to stop saying that because it makes you sound stupid.

and it's not so much that duran quit. quitting by itself is inexcusable and shameful....but it's also the REASON he quit. he was just such a fked up dude...he just wanted to deny srl the satsfaction of beating him that he decided to throw away his entre reputation. then wnen faced with the fallout, he came out with this clearly transparent, clearly bs excuse that fools were only too happy to accept...and now they defend it as if it's gospel....only in boxing.

you said it there. If it needs magic to transform him into a skilled boxer clearly you think he was unskilled.
