How much of a bad ass is Mirko to just casually be like "yeah, I got KTFO in 3 rounds, anyway..." moving on without his masculinity seeming the least bit threatened? Also, how good a sport is he to make it a point to set the record straight that he did not actually kayo Wlad via kick? With his "right foot hospital, left foot cemetery" reputation he easily could have let that slide and there would have been a shadow of doubt in everyone's mind, with no video to corroborate either way.
Filipovic was one of my favourite fighters back in the day. Unbelievable speed, strength and precision. I still remember the way he burst onto the K-1 scene back in 99, destroying a prime Mike Bernardo in one round then running through established guys Musashi and Sam Greco with ease before falling foul of the legendary Ernesto Hoost in the final. Sheeit man, that whole tournament was dope. Le Banner smashing the crap out of reigning champ Peter Aerts after taking a devastating high kick to the face that nearly knocks him out, then going on to dish out a beating to Hoost before getting KOed himself. Andy Hug's last stand, still showing that past prime he was one of the greatest kickboxers on the planet. Man, so much drama. One of the greatest nights of fighting ever.
Vlad knocked Wilder down with a left jab, then flattened him with a left hook! Vlad beat Wilder from one side of the ring to the other..................
I am and I will do it again if I want to!!!!!!! The subject is heavyweight boxing and Wilder is your hero, so there you go...........
He basically recounted how he sparred with Wlad and how Wlad was a giant compared to him and he wasn't able to do squat. At the end of their spar I think Mirko tried to kick him out of frustration and Wlad slipped on some water near the edge. A malicious reporter then took it upon herself to approach Wlad at a later date and said that Mirko said that he had KO'd Wlad. Mirko comes across as extremely embarrassed by this because he said that she made it seem as though he was lying about the incident whereas it was the reporter that had made it up. He went to pains to emphasise that he in no way KO'd Wlad.
