I believe that with a possible exception of a few fighters, most top competitors are not "clean". And I doubt that Mirko would have to stop taking performance enhancing drugs just because the UFC tests, at that level Mirko probably could afford a doctor help him with the tests.

And there are a lot of factors involved that don“t necessarily mean that pride fighters are on/off steroids or anything like that. Mirko might have faced bad matchups/inexperience in the cage, Shogun might have looked past Forrest and so on.

Steroids don't necessarily give you better skills but they give you better speed, strength and explosive power, all attributes that are helpful in a sport such as MMA. They give you more gym time and help you recover much faster.
It is disgusting cheating no ifs or buts.

Until somebody can verify 100% that every other fighter out there is also clean it could also be called leveling the playing field.

Yup... that's why they call them "Performance Enhancing" drugs. If you are already a skilled fighter, the use of Performance Enhancing drugs are going to allow you to perform and train at a higher level. You will be faster, stronger, more explosive, and you will recover a lot faster... I would say that it helps quite a bit.

Apparently Mirko said that he plans on returning to the UFC at the press conference.

It's not leveling the playing field, its cheating. The reason why I watch boxing/MMA is to see who is the greatest fighter(Naturally).
Not some roided up ****** who is a walking laboratory and cheating his way to success.

And how the **** do you know who`s natural or not? Testing for roids? They probably get a fraction of the people who do it.

I don't see how the steroids would make such a difference. I mean you take them and get a gain, then you should maintain that gain. Just because they are not one them now, they still should have the gains from the previous cycles they took.

You can't ever paint everyone with the same brush. I think it is obvious when someone fights in Japan and people act like they can rule the world (Cro-Cop pride OWGP)... then they come to the US and look flat and useless. (Cro- Cop, Herring, Gomi, Shogun, ect....)

Guys like Rampage, Fedor, Anderson Silva, and Henderson never struck me as being all jacked up. I think that carries over when they fight in the USA as well.

The reasoning here is bull****. Because Fedor Ando Silva and Rampage continue to win there not on juice. But Shogun CC and Soko have so they must be on them right?

Number 1 although there called performance enhancers thats subjective. Steroids can be used for recovery, quick physical gains and will augment you physically. BUT they wont decrease your skill set nor increase it.

Anyone can speculate that anybody is on steroids but unless there is physical proof or evidence the aperations are hogwash. Tim Sylvia Josh Barnett and Stephan Bonnar were all on hormones. Not one of those guys is body beautifull. Although physcial hardness and conditoning is a good indicator that somone is juicing its certainly NOT full proof nor a solid enough basis for accusation as attested to by Sylvia and co. It could easily be speculated that Rampage is on gear as he has very good quad development tri`s and back but because Rampage is a nice guy and a great fighter he surely cant be on them..:blood

There could be ANY amount of reasons as to why CC and Shogun were flat but no one here is privvy to that information. So wild asperations that it may or could be or might be or is steroids or any form of hormone abuse is completely unfair.
