Cro-Cop has been one of my Fav fighters of all time. Win or get beat. Before last night I felt he was done, but was still holding out hope that he would pull it off. As the fight went I knew it was over. Time for a great fighter to step away. Thanks Cro-Cop.
Love crocops fighting career. I have the whole thing on dvd. He was a great warrior. He was right when he said he should of hung up the gloves in 06. He said if he lost that fight, he would of hung them up anyway.
Crocop was one of the greatest of his time. Instead of trashing him, give him respect he so much deserves.
This is a sad moment to be honest. Cro Cop is one of the reasons why I even began watching real MMA. I hope he goes out in the dignity and respect he deserves. Also happily impressed by UFC fans here, before i got the impression most didn't even know or respect him as a fighter.
should have retired following the gonzaga and kongo debacle's it was plain to see he simply does'nt have it any more.... he looks amateurish in the octagon, its sad but mirko ended with pride. awesome spectacle in his prime, the gp where he dispatched of barnett and silva in one night to win it will forever stick in my memory, the k1 days where he dispatched of aerts and bonjasky, that fearsome stiking i.e alex emelianenko etc sir i salute you but times up buddy, get out with your health intact your legacy is secure dont keep tarnishing it with loss after loss the overeem debacle was enough for me. one of the greatest heavyweights ever and as far as striking goes, anderson who?
Well I understand and aplogize because I took your post like it was directed towards me but I see thats not the case and agian im sorry :good Cro Cop is not a coward anyone who believes he is is an idiot what im just saying is mentally he is clearly as shell of himself since the Gonzaga fight. The poor guy cant pull the trigger and seems almost afraid to be hit, its a shame what hes came to but the man is by no means a *****. Its kinda like what Frank Mir says its real easy for the guys who are to afraid to step into the ring and fight to just sit back and call the guys who lay it on the line cowards and other things of that nature.
Did that article/interview really start out by saying "Croatian gladiator Mirko Filipovic didnt make any excuses for him self"?
